The Big Compiler Directing Facility (CDF) push for #gcobol was merged into GCC Tuesday. Fixes a lot of niggling problems. GCC 17 is shaping up to be a great gcobol release. We'd love folk to pick up the tip of the spear and let us know how it works for them!

We publish develoment packages built when code is merged into our master+cobol branch. Each package (generally) contains fixes and improvements. Bob did a rework of "line sequential" files (Linux text files) with dramatic improvement in many of our tests. Many other improvements: comparisons, ADD 1 TO COBOL (optimizing the common case), MOVE (coming soon). Ubuntu 22.04 for now, more coming! #cobol #gcobol. #cobolworx

GCC has released Release Candidate 1 for GCC 16. The final release objective is for late April or May. GCC COBOL (gcobol) 16 is included in the release with many fixes and improvements. #cobol #gcobol #gcc #cobolworx
