Very nice talk by Luca Degradi in the scientific applications track today on genomics and transcriptomics of *Fusarium musae*, the infamous banana (but also human) pathogen.

It's always super-motivating to learn that Galaxy is used for addressing real-world problems!

one focusing on scientific applications of Galaxy, the other on the latest advances of Galaxy, the platform.

We're starting with a keynote from Prof. Jana Klánová on the history and future of #Exposomics and the growing role of #UseGalaxy in the field through #EIRENE https://eirene.eu/about.

@galaxyproject almost everyone from the Freiburg Galaxy team going to #gcc2024 in Brno this June is going to travel there by train. Per person that saves ~ 200 kg of CO2.

Overall carbon footprint from traveling to GCC will, of course, be dominated by flights from outside the EU so how much potential is there for tweaking, e.g., the footprint of transatlantic flights?
