I would like to watch again "Aliens Of London." It feels more and more real.

@RejoinEU @europesays He was worse than useless, he was actively trying to make the situation worse, as part of the Great Barrington Declaration. #lang_en #GBPol

CW: pessimism, probably.
@lyndamerry484 here’s my forecast: the UK will not rejoin the EU within the next 500 years, not resuming its old place, not as if a new state member (the latter of which would be more palatable to the EU). #lang_en #EUPol #GBPol

Ooh ooh I have an idea, let's grade and categorize the murderer-likelyhood in a opaque color scheme and give everyone some sort of digital pass to check it, to make it more interactive!

Liz Truss losing her seat is great news. Her political choices were bad and as a prime minister she strived to destroy the welfare system. However, what set her apart from other leading Tories was how, especially after her downfall, she embraced US Republican Party-style unhinged conspiracy theories (deep state, identity politics etc.). She courted far right, anti-democratic forces in the hope of reviving her fortunes - a win for her might have encouraged others to go down the same road.

@SturmUndDranger you're absolutely right on that one, but unfortunately almost nobody uses #gbpol, so #ukpol gets used to mean anything relating to politics in the UK in general.
NI is definitely consistently overlooked in UK politics, to its detriment, but I think part of that is that it only returns 18 MPs, the majority of whom don't really participate in Westminster politics and the plurality of whom are abstentionists, such that who governs the UK is almost never affected by NI politics.

CW: GBpol: democracy fails again
Rumoured results from Birmingham in the Mayor Against the West Midlands:
ConLab A: 80,251
ConLab B: 66,296
Ind-Yakoob: 42,953
Three others: about 20,000In 2012, we were asked if we wanted a "strong mayor".
No: 120,611
Yes: 88,085"No mayor" has beaten all candidates.
Whichever ConLab "wins" tonight's count has no democratic mandate. At all.
Always respect the will of the people, not just when it's convenient.
