My adult nephew paid me a huge compliment. He played the #hypercasual #gayme I helped build with his daughter. More than liking the game, she was amazed that her grand-uncle built it. My nephew told me she had lots of question about becoming an #gamedev herself. Texting with my nephew, I told her that #godot has a fantastic resource for "Kids Can Code". (The app is a bit like the magic ball of eight, but for human bears and their admirers)

This made me laugh. I got some great feedback from beta testers on my #gayme. As soon as I got a feedback email, I would implement the improvement. Everything great until the last round. I changed 1 thing and BLAM-O it stopped working. Took me a couple days to debug. (Somehow my gd-script got disconnected from my scene in #godot - probably my fingers slipped and deleted the connection and I didn't notice it at the time.) #beta testers are #awesome

Thanks to #gaymingpodcast I heard the developer of the 1989 gayme "Caper in the Castro" discuss the process. Also, learned there is an emulator version you can play on https://archive.org/details/hypercard_caper-in-the-castro I found it very enjoyable and brought back memories of the late 80s Mac GUI. #gayme #gaymedev #gamedev #historical
