Is it too early to say that I found the finale disappointing and underwhelming?
I mean, yes, the outcome was as expected and was the happy ending we all wanted. But the plot seemed contrived and forced. Even as nostalgia, the old themes no longer seemed as clever and funny as they once were (and still are, rewatching old episodes).

When people learn I'm from #Wales, they often assume I must love #gavinandstacey, and the answer is no I fucking don't. I have never found it funny, don't relate to the characters and #jamescorden is an arse.
On the other hand, I can totally relate to the characters in #thegoldencobra, showing on #bbcwales right now and available on #iplayer. Finally a Welsh based comedy that is actually funny.

It's official - BBC One will present a "Gavin & Stacey" Christmas special on December 25. Stars James Corden and Ruth Jones have confirmed they've written the episode and that it will be the last ever episode of the series. The last special aired in 2019 and ended on a cliffhanger.
