My curiosity was sparked when I observed a difference between my experience with pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy; what I was reading in the medical literature about supposed best practices for enzyme dosing; and what other people were sharing in the EPI online communities about their experiences.

The result? Research on real-world experiences of PERT dosing in n=111.

First time ever, I think, there was a situation where the doc made the wrong call, and I should have listened to my gut instead (pun intended). It resulted in last night being the absolute fucking misery filled with pain, sickness, and frustration.

Recovery is hard!

6 weeks out of surgery and getting stronger with each day. An 8 hour surgery requires a long recovery.

I've now spent 365 days 🎊 on pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (#PERT) for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (#EPI or #PEI).

The total number of #enzyme pills per day has changed over the course of the year - as has my food intake! Not all because of EPI, however - some of that is from #ultrarunning.

It's also been interesting to look at the improvement in "streaks" of days without symptoms. #Gastrodon folks might be interested in this!
