ब्लॉगर यूरी पोडोल्याका ने दावा किया कि कुछ रूसी सैनिकों ने सुदजा शहर के पास यूक्रेनी यूनिट पर हमला करने से पहले कई दिन पाइपलाइन में बिताए थे. फरवरी 2022 में यूक्रेन पर रूस के हमले से पहले सुदजा में लगभग 5,000 लोग रह रहे थे और वहां पर पाइपलाइन के साथ कुछ प्रमुख गैस और माप स्टेशन भी हैं.
