The gaslands crew is complete! Obviously Miss Frizzle is the crown jewel but I'm quite happy with how they all came out. The family truckster conversion was a lot of fun to figure out. The worst part was trying to figure out how to get a decent group shot (photos are always the hardest part of a mini).

What I have learned in this gaslands project: if you're going to disassemble for paint, make sure you know what is going to be visible on reassembly.
I'm very close to the finish line and suddenly I have a bunch of extra stuff to prime and paint! Oops!

I think I'm ready to consider the Miss Frizzle pin-up part of this piece done. Now I just need to be brave and do all the weathering and washes and stuff to really bring this thing into gaslands. A bit scary when you've done all this work! But I was already brave doing the patterns on the swim suit and they came out great so sometimes that's just what you gotta do 😆
Also I added a quick Liz to the side!

Pinup Miss Frizzle is beginning to take shape. I'm not sure I've ever tackled painting the human form in 2d before. It's hard! It's fun! Hopefully I'm learning something.
Shouts to all those renaissance painters, you were very good. You would have loved reference photos

Been sick and dealing with various real life nonsense all week! Finally feeling slightly better and rested enough to do something creative.
I was trying to come up with a fun design for the roof of the gaslands school bus, and my always supportive and brilliant partner said "Miss Frizzle pin-up" (!!!)
Sketching here in the style of Betty Grable before giving a crack at painting it in miniature!

Wood paneling is on the family truckster now! Opted to just freehand the straight lines instead of using tape so some real breath holding stuff.

@renegadejade Yes! You should definitely check out the #Gaslands or #HotWheelsMod tags here. There’s a huge community of people doing exactly that, and their creativity is mind-blowing. Can't wait to see your first rig do you already have a specific car in mind to convert?

In these times of unprecedentedly stupid horror, I hope this bus with ridiculous exhaust I'm working on for Gaslands brings you some joy, as it has me.

I already mentioned playing/teaching blood bowl (and in doing so convincing two friends to buy teams), but this year at adepticon I ended up doing a ton of gaming!
Our crew welcomed in @roofuskit (once again, it was lovely to hang out) for a great game of Gaslands, even if nothing exploded at the right time!
I finally got to try Space Gits, which is just as stupidly fun as I imagined when I first read the rules, even if I knocked over a two die tall tower 😆
An excellent adventure in Kids on Bikes, a great story and the system might be a perfect fit for running games with my daughter!
Almost forgot, I even got in a couple games of magic! No pictures of those sadly.
Yes I am still a bit tired!

In late middle school and early highschool I had a pretty intense graffiti stage (hyper focus? Who can say). In retrospect, I think it was a "safe" way to approach art, I knew all the forms already (letters), so I was somewhat shielded from the criticism I feared. Being a rule follower I never ended up doing much outside of notebooks. Still a fun thing to revisit from time to time.
Anyway, gaslands terrain! The double t really is a weird one! Next up going to sneak in some weathering.

Last year at adepticon, we played a game of gaslands where the onlookers placed their empty hard mountain dew cans on the table as terrain mid game. It was a (Baja) blast.
The plan is to play again this year, with a bit more preexisting terrain. Here's my (wip) contribution: a buried shipping container. Not sure if you can read "dewstruction" on there because I didn't do a great job of fitting it, but that feels in brand for gaslands.
I should probably review the rules for ramps though.
