I think I recently said that #GaryStevenson had revealed that his proposal for a #wealthtax was 2% on wealth over £2M. I thought that was a bit low. I clearly misheard or misunderstood Gary's 'urban' accent. It's actually on wealth over £10M. That's fair. Based on the multi-millionaires we heard from, I don't care if they leave the country. #HowToBecomeFilthyRich on #channel4 .

J’ai toujours de la peine avec les ultra-riches qui viennent nous expliquer comment tout régler mais sans rien faire directement. Je l’ai découvert avec l'[entretien de Salomé Saqué sur Blast](https://video.blast-info.fr/videos/watch/616204fc-e0fe-4d58-aa62-90284ba8ea50) et j’ai vraiment eu l’impression de me faire imposer une publicité pour un énième bouquin sur le sujet. Je m’attendais à des questions un peu intéressantes sur sa manière d’arrêter d’exploiter les populations, mais Salomé lui a déroulé le tapis.
Ce deuxième entretien de Gilles Mitteau (Heu?reka) est plus intéressant. Gary a le même discours mais Marlene Engelhorn semble avoir poussé la réflexion un peu plus loin en ayant mis en place un processus de redistribution de la majorité d’un héritage qu’elle a reçu. Mais surtout, elle fait un pas de plus que Gary. Gary nous dit :
> Ce n’est pas une question de redistribution de la richesse. C’est une question d’empêcher vos enfants d’être désespérément pauvres. Et je ne vois aucun autre moyen de le faire que de réparer le système fiscal.
Donc là il dépolitise volontairement son propos si je comprends bien. Bien sûr que c’est une question de redistribution de la richesse.

Bah merci, du coup non-merci.
Marlene a la décence de nous dire qu’il faut sortir du capitalisme.
Et pour finir, le "taxez nous !" est un peu facile quand t’es du côté qui doit être taxé, genre c’est la responsabilité des prolos de se battre contre tout le système économique ? Ça serait pas plus logique que vous arrêtiez d’abord d’exploiter des gens et des ressources ?
Il ne faut pas taxer les riches, il faut tout leur reprendre. On leur donnera ensuite un appart de taille décente, comme tout le reste de la population, avec de quoi manger et se chauffer, et iels prendront aussi leur tour de ramassage d’ordures ou de patates.

I don't want to pick on Guyon, but this is a classic example of news media defining 'centre-left' as 'whatever the largest liberal party says at any given time'. You'd think the NZ Labour of the 1980s would have showed them that's not a meaningful way to define it.

British economist and former Citi trader Gary Stevenson warns that Australia is losing its "fair go" ethos due to a worsening housing crisis and widening wealth gap. During an Australian speaking tour, he told the ABC that governments worldwide are failing to seriously tackle inequality. IMHO, the party has to stop emphasising photo ops and get out there and TALK to a wider cross section of people.
Take notes from Zohran Mamdani, interact with people.
The Greens are in parliament! They need to be as strong, forward and with a 'take no bullshit' manner like Stephen Flynn (SNP)
And there can be NO COMPROMISES on #LGBTQIAplusRights. That includes #TransRights 🏳️⚧️.
We need to visibly see more #POCs, #queers, #immigrants in the Green Party.
We need to get people like #GaryStevenson , an #economist who grew up #workingclass, is well known to the public and tells it line it is.

1. The Laffer curve.
- treated like it's a principal rarther than a illustration of an oversimplified idea. To quote the Wikipedia article "Graphical representations of the curve sometimes appear to put the rate at around 50%, if the tax base reacts to the tax rate linearly, but the revenue-maximizing rate could theoretically be any percentage greater than 0% and less than 100%."
