On Monday the central and western parts of Kyōto city experienced record rainfall...about 102mm in 1 hour!

Although the building is over 100 years old, there has been a property on this site for well over 500 years, residence of the head family that oversaw Ryōan-ji's 'parish'.
Due to their status the family were often expected to act as hosts, so very little has changed🥰

Our Garden Teahouse sits alongside Hō-zaka (法坂), very close to Ryōan-ji's South Gate.
