  1. Old thatch from a friends (admittedly quite degraded) roof thatch repair.
    Great for the compost heap!
    Allows aeration & thatch straw is organic!
    The sprays used by farmers on straw to prevent mould etc actually speed up its degredation when used on rooves.

    Helped my friend get rid of some of the waste and to me financial cost zero!
