A very good friend from up the road has just been visiting.
She likes our garden figs, so I was sent outside to get her some - and came back with two tubs full. Enough for her and for us to stew in blackcurrant juice.
I don't think I was out long enough for them to finish talking about me because I was sent back out to collect windfall apples!
It's extremely hot out there. Not nice at all.

Finally started cropping the raspberries. If anything grows well in Scottish weather then it's raspberries. Strawberries have been ok this year but do need to plant more. My transplanted blueberries are barely adequate though. #Garden #GardenFruit

Later today, these apples will be apple sauce in jars as I continue to work my way through the bounty of apples from the tree in our yard. 🍎🍏

Here’s our first kitchen/garden project for today. Home-made apple sauce using St. Lawrence apples from the tree in our back yard! The mechanical peeler/corer/slicer is an amazing device, and makes prep super easy. We still have a *lot* of apples to get through but this is a start. Happily, the whole family likes this stuff! 😀🍎🍎🍎
