DC-link decoupling capacitors are not your friends for SiC and GaN converters. They can make the voltage overshoot smaller… or bigger, depends on the circuit parameters. They can make the ringing frequency higher or lower 🤷. They can also create weird low frequency ringings. Stuff is hard to predict, especially if you grab a random capacitor. Use a properly designed DC-link RC snubber instead.

Taking this one step further, I also looked at #ConditionalGANs: Extending #GANs by conditioning both generator and discriminator on labels, so you can explicitly control what is generated. In the #MNIST case, this means generating specific digits and even smoothly interpolating between them:

Не люблю писать о ремонте техники, так как обычно это рутина. Самые частые аппаратные проблемы — это старение, перегревы, перегрузки, намокание и тому подобное. Но тут коллега принес блок питания, который покупался для тестов устройств с Power Delivery, со словами: «Два раза зарядил телефон и блок питания перестал работать». AOHi GaN 140W, весом 470 граммов (!), с относительно небольшими габаритами. Мне кажется, что за такую стоимость он должен был прослужить немного дольше. Я его решил разобрать только для того, чтобы доказать, что там просто свинцовая пластина, а блок питания самый обычный. Спойлер: нет.

И я подумал, почему бы не запустить новый тип статей в своей копилке - обзоры устройств, но изнутри, с полным разбором того, из чего они слеплены но без углубления в реверс-инжиниринг. Такая мысль у меня появилась, когда я, ползая по глубинам китайского сегмента интернета, обнаружил очень крутой форум где выложено очень много разных интересных разборов, при этом самых разных устройств. И вот я решил попробовать опубликовать подобный материал и посмотреть насколько он зайдет Хабра-сообществу. If you buy things on #AliExpress, you are going to get scammed every so often. Their buyer protection program is pretty decent, although it can be a bit of a pain to go through the process.
You can increase your chances of getting scammed by buying things where the #deals are too good to be true. When the deals are ludicrously, impossibly good, your chances increase to 100%.
This can be fun. I have bought a few things over the years that were obviously #scams. Once, I spent a few hundred dollars for two tablets that, if they had been real, were selling for about one tenth of what they should have. Seeing how they faked them being new products, when they were actually recycled ancient low-end tablets, was fascinating.
But I generally won't do that. Instead, I buy cheap stuff, trading a few dollars for the fun of seeing what the seller/manufacturer have done. I don't even try to get my money back on these.
So I recently bought a #USB #charger that I've been seeing for months. It's described as a 240W total output, gallium-nitride, USB-PD and QC-3.0 compatible, five-port charger. The genuine article from a reputable manufacturer, if it exists, must cost over CDN $100. This one was ... five bucks.
So I knew it was going to be interesting. It arrived today. It weighed more than expected, but all at one end. The case appears to be ultrasonically welded, so getting it open is destructive.
