Something that might take some people back: Hugo, with an actual phone as an interface.

Hugo was a game show (originally Danish) in which people called in to play this game with the little troll via their phone keys.

From what I remember basically everybody failed because the delay between game and phone was atrocious. And yet it was running for years in 40 different countries.
