Касаемо handheld game console — портативных (мобильных) игровых консолей:
Anbernic, MANGMI, TrimUI, Miyoo — специально без тегов.
Вот лучше заместо таковых купить телескопический геймпад GameSir X5 Lite Type-C и запихнуть в него один из морально устаревший мобильников (телефонов). Это нечто менее тысячи рублей по текущим ценам и стики на эффекте Холла. Подключается по Type-C, вместо стыковки через bluetooth, и задержек меньше, и заряда хватит на дольше и наушники беспроводные не повлияют на лаги.
Этот телескопический с GameSir X5 Lite для Android или схожие с таковым, можно цеплять не только на мобильники, но и различные планшеты. Сегодня на одном устройстве, а завтра уже на другом. И это гораздо интереснее по качеству в плане отображаемой картинки (графика и цвета). В продаже имеется не так много вариантов портативных игровых консолей, готовых предложить экран/дисплей/матрицу хотя бы схожего качества и плотности точек, какие были нормой лет 10 назад даже у средних мобильников.
Зачем?
Потому как банально тошнит от идеи обретения очередного нового устройства являющегося вещью в себе и которое весьма быстро станет очередным лишним предметом в жизни. Старых же мобильников-телефонов и так скапливается изрядное количество. Да не у всех, да не в любой семье, но во многих. А вот в плане вычислительной мощности, по начинке эти аппараты вполне годные — если сравнивать с миром тех самых портативных игровых консолей.
Какой мобильник?
Для ретро игр — откровенно пиксельных Arcade/MAME, Sega Genesis/MegaDrive и Super NES (SNES) — лучше использовать аппараты с экранами в районе 400ppi, такие матрицы были на мобильниках с пятью-шестью дюймами по диагонали и FullHD разрешением. Когда у матрицы ppi в 400+, то в подобных играх шейдеры нужны совсем легковесные и аппарат довольно слабо нагревается, спокойно обходясь пассивным охлаждением в течении и двух-трёх игровых сессий.
Софт и ковыряния
Android в древней модели можно сменить на чутка более свежую прошивку от LineageOS или же crDroid, с более свежими драйверами на чипсет, если нужно выжать максимум производительности. Да есть такие реалии, в мире игровых консолей с драйверами для Android на устройствах почти аналогичных телефонам, но выполненных на базе уже довольно не свежих чипсетов.
А касаемо эмуляторов, то поставить RetroArch — именно таковой и пихается сейчас почти во все игровые портативки, даже когда устройство на Android, а не linux'е.
Проверить заранее, а будет ли телефон работать с геймпадом можно подключив другой какой-нибудь сродни универсального Flydigi — кабелем так просто или же разметив телефон в специальном кронштейне, вставляющемся в геймпад.
В плане игрового разнообразия морально устаревший мобильник спокойно тянет Android-порты Hollow Knight (первый) или Dead Cells, но ощутимо нагреваясь при этом. Если к этому добавить кучу винтажного и ретро старья всякого, то можно брать в поездки как устройство для развлечений и в тоже время, вполне себе запасной телефон.
Стеллаж на фото не мой и здесь оно про то, как легко порой некоторые теряют меру в погоне за идеей и призраком идеального или максимально удобно-подходящего устройства:

And say what you like about the AA-batteries, but I much prefer long 40h battery life that I can easily hotswap without ever going wired for recharging.
AA rechargable batteries and chargers are dirt cheap and you never have to worry about some inner battery degrading over time and not holding a charge anymore.
I wish they'd do an 8bitdo and provide both: an included battery and the ability to pop in double As. That's be even sweeter!

So, I've got also this pimped #asrock #deskmini with a more recent 5th gen #Ryzen and 64gb ram. It was my "#gaming" living room pc, connected to the TV and some #gamepads. I've got no more time to play now that I'm a dad, so it will be of better use in the #server #rack. I mean, it uses like 8w in idle, but can scale to over 65w under full load. A little but capable machine!
And also, it supports NVME drives. (Continues...) -

My remaining DualShock 3 controller finally died a few months ago, so I bought a DualSense, since I've used PlayStation gamepads all my life. And I must say, that the change in dimensions has being an odd adjustment, being accustomed to a smaller size.
I considered a DualShock 4, but I haven't got a PS4, so finally decided on the newer controller.
Thus far, I haven't got any major complaints. I'd like the touchpad to work out of the box as a mouse on Windows, but Steam takes care of that for the most part.

I have a lot of #gameControllers, some #USB, some #Bluetooth. I find that I often go to use my #8bitdo #controllers and the buttons are mapped wrong for whatever reason.
Does #lazyweb recommend any software for managing #gamepad button mappings? Mostly interested in Windows but cross-platform #foss is always nice. Would be cool to not have to reconfigure every time I set up a new PC!
