Another forever D&D topic is sandbox vs railroad? I think railroad is the wrong word. I do not think anyone wants to be railroaded. Maybe freeform vs structured, but that will never get clicks!

A subtle subset of such discussions is the players are (probably) never going to be as invested in the world building a DM is. They are not as motivated to engage in abstract concepts like government, or trading, or game social constructs, or improving the world (fantasy) in some way.

I hypothesis that freeform (sandbox) play lends itself more to the players thinking of themselves as indestructible cowboys. Or maybe they know they could die, but nobody is going to hold them back or tell them what to do.

It is much less likely that the players are going to say, oh, this land is lawless, I am going to build a wood fort, and change the hearts and minds of the people to stand with me and tame this wilderness for the greater good of our kingdom. They are much more likely to say, who needs this kingdom telling us what to do.

Trump is reorganizing global energy distribution routes in a way that renders the Strait of Hormuz ‘just another body of water’ and no longer a critical chokepoint controlled by Iran and the City of London (through insurance rates and the fomenting of violence in the Middle East, which raises them). Iran appears to have overplayed a weak hand, only to lose even more power. ABN

At the end of all of this effort is the EU/NATO goal of a fully operational war against Russia

No reasonable person in the EU wants this outcome, no ordinary citizen in the U.K wants war with Russia and only a tiny percentage of Americans would support it.

However, 80% of the British/EU political class and around 75% of the Washington DC political class would immediately welcome this outcome.

Europe is burning through their spending of the confiscated €300 billion Russian sovereign wealth fund. The money will be completely gone within a year as it is the funding mechanism for almost all Ukraine support.

When you think about this in very practical terms, this makes the EU war against Russia a foregone conclusion.

In my opinion, the decision to spend that confiscated Russian asset wealth is what changed in early June when Zelenskyy visited King Charles in London. What was once avoidable is now ultimately only a matter of time.

Unless someone is willing to step into the finance side and repay Russia, a western conflict with the Russian Federation to avoid the issue seems to be the overwhelming likelihood.

In the interim, Eastern Ukraine remains a meat grinder.

Is Israel Planning to Assassinate President Trump?

In January 2012, Andrew Adler, the owner and publisher of a small weekly newspaper called the Atlanta Jewish Times, sparked considerable controversy when he penned an article titled ‘What Would You Do?’ in which he put forth three possible responses Israel might pursue if Iran were to acquire a nuclear weapon. The first two — pre-emptive strikes on Hezbollah and Hamas and disobeying the US Secretary of Defense to destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities — failed to raise any eyebrows. Adler’s third suggestion, however, would result in his immediate resignation as editor and the subsequent sale of his newspaper:

“Three, give the go-ahead for U.S.-based Mossad agents to take out a president deemed unfriendly to Israel in order for the current vice president to take his place, and forcefully dictate that the United States policy includes its helping the Jewish state obliterate its enemies. Yes, you read “three” correctly. Order a hit on a president in order to preserve Israel’s existence. Think about it. If I have thought of this Tom Clancy-type scenario, don’t you think that this almost unfathomable idea has been discussed in Israel’s most inner circles?… You have got to believe, like I do, that all options are on the table.“

Almost immediately, the article became headline news around the country forcing major Jewish organizations like the ADL and AJC to feign indignation, and within a week the US Secret Service had launched an ‘investigation’ into the matter while a teary-eyed Adler appeared on the Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasting network’s cable TV show to disavow his column and explain that he actually held a favorable view of President Obama!

Adler’s straight-talk, shocking though it may seem to some, provides crucial insight into the mentality of God’s chosen people and the candor they often use when speaking amongst themselves. Killing a foreign or domestic head of state who presents a perceived obstacle to the preservation of fragile little Israel is not unknown to history, as any reader of Laurent Guyenot’s indispensable book The Unspoken Kennedy Truth or Ronen Bergman’s 2018 bestseller Rise and Kill First: The Secret History of Israel’s Targeted Assassinations can assure you.

It only just now occurred to me that the gory public execution of Charlie Kirk was also meant to terrify Donald Trump, which it seems to have done very profoundly. Secretary Bessent Outlines Reality of Capital Markets Making the Strait of Hormuz Irrelevant

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent gets it.  When asked about the Strait of Hormuz, Bessent notes that yes, things will likely never return to the way they were before; however, there is a distinction that must be applied.

Even if Iran completely acquiesced to all of the most stringent terms and conditions requested by President Trump, they will never again recapture the position they held with the Strait of Hormuz as a chokepoint.

Get ready to flee, Americans in ten countries warned as US embassies issue stark alert over spiraling Iran war

Americans have been told to be ‘ready’ to flee ten Middle Eastern countries as the Iran war spirals, with President Trump warning: ‘We’ll be hitting them very hard.’ 

The US Embassy has urgently advised US citizens across the Middle East to ‘consider departing or be ready to depart if there is an escalation,’ just hours after Trump signaled fresh strikes on Iran could come as soon as this weekend. 

The warning now covers 10 countries: the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Oman, Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and, most recently, Egypt. 

‘US Embassies across the Middle East have issued security alerts today advising travelers to exercise heightened vigilance and be prepared for flight cancellations and airspace closures,’ the initial alert said.

President Trump warned the storming of a small Spanish enclave by tens of thousands of migrants would look “small time” compared to what happens in the US if voters pick open-border Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections.

Was looking through 80s TSR Star Frontiers again. There are only 13 skills broken down into 3 categories.

In a previous conversation about homebrew D&D, I was talking about how there are only 3 classes/archetypes from a programming perspective, Fighter, Magic-user, Thief.

Code would have to be written for Combat, Skills, and Spells.

The other D&D classes would use that code.

Looking over the SF skill list, it also follows a 3 point approach that (somewhat) matches the previous discussion. But it is interesting how Tech Skills and Biosocial Skills could be Magic-user or Thief based, depending on perspective.

Technological = Magic-user = Spells
Biosocial = Thief = Skills

Follow the Money Toward WWIII — Russia’s $300 billion of confiscated assets make peace close to impossible

It has been said that all wars are “bankers wars,” however, against the modern era of inverted fascism where corporations tell the govt what policies take priority, the more accurate truism ‘is all wars being controlled by money’, not necessarily banks.

The European Commission has constructed a very special kind of proactive financing for Ukraine that doesn’t require them to give their own €uros to the historically corrupt country.  Partly because the EU doesn’t have their own money, and partly because everything the EU does in the sphere of finance is always a false construct, what the EU put together was a financial system based on sanctioned, confiscated (ie stolen) Russian sovereign wealth funds {citation}.

As part of the sanction regime, the EU and western NATO alliance seized roughly €250 billion, $300 billion USD, in Russian sovereign wealth assets.  As long as the USA was financing the Ukraine government and war effort, those funds sat on the sidelines undiscussed.  However, once the USA stopped writing checks to Ukraine an alternate finance system was needed.

What the EU (Ursula von der Leyen) put together was a finance package using the confiscated $300 billion in the Russian sovereign wealth fund as collateral for loans to Ukraine.  The EU would send the money to Ukraine as a loan that did not have a payback mechanism. Instead, the thinking goes that when the negotiations for a ceasefire take place, Russia would be forced to give up the confiscated $300 billion as part of a reparations package to Ukraine.

Ukraine doesn’t have to pay back the loans because Russia will be forced to give up their sovereign wealth fund, and those funds will repay the loans.  That’s the way the EU financing of Ukraine is set up. {SOURCE}  The EU isn’t giving Ukraine EU money; the EU is giving Ukraine the Russian wealth fund money.

Now, immediately you can see a few problems.

♦ PROBLEM 1 – What happens if Russia demands the return of their $300 billion as one of their baseline terms for a peace deal?  If the confiscated money is given back to Russia, the EU and Ukraine are on the hook for the $300 billion they would have spent.

♦ PROBLEM 2 – With #1 in mind, there is now an incentive to never reach a peace agreement or ceasefire; at least never reach a solution that would consider the return of the $300 billion.  Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin has previously said the stolen money belongs to the Russian people and must be returned; he will never accept the theft.

There is more than just this very important factor. It strongly appears that the Iran War is spreading and merging with the Ukraine War, which indicates top Western elites are not giving up on destroying Russia, and probably Europe as well. Chaos always favors the strongest players, who may overestimate their positions. Only time will tell. I dislike predictions but do like seeing the signs of things that may come to be and assessing them based on what seems probable. WW3 is a constantly increasing possibility and has been on a front burner since Gaza, and now Iran. If USA agrees to marry Israel’s IDF, that will mean WW3 will follow with much greater probability. Notice the many ties between China and Israel, as both deeply infiltrate USA and Europe with many similar aims. I can imagine an Israeli-Chinese plot to goad Europe and USA into war with Russia, while China and Israel wait on the sidelines to reap the spoils. China will gain territory from and power over a war-torn Russia, while Israel will increase its control over USA and Europe, and probably take full control of Ukraine, if not more. ABN

And then you could dovetail into what should the progression rate be.

The security breach carried out by a rogue AI could be the first of a new generation of cyber nightmares, an expert has warned.

ChatGPT creator OpenAI publicly revealed on July 21 that one of its advanced models escaped containment, accessed the internet and hacked another AI company’s systems.

However, DigitalWarfare.com’s James Knight told the Daily Mail this is no fantasy, warning that AI-powered hacking programs could devastate a nation in a single day by simultaneously breaking into thousands of corporate and government networks, stealing sensitive data and paralyzing vital systems with ransomware. 

Knight, a veteran cybersecurity expert whose company is hired to uncover weaknesses in major corporations’ computer systems, said: ‘For two years now, we have had AI software that can already achieve this level of breach within 15 minutes.’

The Birth of the Protocols — Nick Kollerstrom

It is here argued that ‘the Protocols of the Learned elders of Zion’ was mainly composed between 1818 and 1864. We here explore the thesis propounded by Henry Makow, that they were composed in Paris by a member of the Rothschild banking dynasty.[1] Some of the ‘forgery’ claims will also be reviewed.

A Brief Background Sketch

In 1815, Lionel Nathan Rothschild trumped the Bank of England, he crashed it in the aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars. He in effect took over the Bank of England, then in 1816 he did much the same with France, its bank was taken over by the Rothschilds: two national banks.[2] Such a thing was totally unheard-of: that, by speculation, a family gained financial power over nation-states. In 1818 the Rothschilds made loans to European governments, beginning with Prussia and following with issues to England, Austria, Naples and Russia.

As the Protocols observed, Freemasonry was employed as a means of concealing the new movement, formulated by the brilliant mastermind Adam Weishaupt in Bavaria: back in the 1780s a Luciferian ‘Illuminism’ began permeating Western Freemasonic lodges, with a philosophy radically different from that which they had earlier contained. Weishaupt wrote: “The great strength of our Order lies in its concealment, let it never appear, in any place in its own name, but always covered by another name, and another occupation. None is fitter than the three lower degrees of Freemasonry; the public is accustomed to it, expects little from it, and therefore takes little notice of it.”[3]
 In 1781 the Illuminati hierarchy became added to the first three degrees of Masonry (Masons at the Congress of Wilhelmsbad, 20 December). What was so powerful about the new movement, what was its terrible potency? It was we are here suggesting a spiritual movement, threatening to destroy the entire established order of things, it was Jewish at its core[5] (‘the doctors of Unbelief’) and it was based upon the godlike way in which paper money could be created out of nothing –with interest charged upon it.

The Inception had begun in 1694, two centuries earlier, with a Dutch king put onto the English throne, and Dutch financiers putting up some gold, and thereby acquiring the magical ability to multiply paper money – it was called, the ‘Bank of England’. It’s a well-told story. We are only here concerned with a creative act, maybe a century and a half later: when did one individual compose the awful twenty-four fold ‘Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion? We surmise it was one of the 33rd degree, in the Paris Mizraim Lodge, who maybe gave them monthly over a couple of years.
