This is how sadly little attention is paid to #GameCenter: #AppleNews+ not only adds a new puzzle in #iOS 17.5, but now integrates with Game Center for leaderboards on solving times, and I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere.

My non-gamer spouse volunteered to help playtest my game, so she set up GameCenter on iPhone for the first time today. This... is what Apple automatically assigned as her nickname.

Another example of hours of debugging to find a fix with a single line of code: #GameCenter didn’t want to send data from one player to others.

Turns out some delegates are set automatically (like GKMatchMakerViewCtrlDelegate), but not the GKMatchDelegate. 🤦

Finally solved! 🎉

Shortly before the #AppleEvent, I managed to complete the #scoreboard UI for after a playing round in my #Categories game.📝

Took 2 hours in #SwiftUI to get the transition animation right. Do you like it?

Next step: #GameCenter integration!🎮

Tried to connect to other players with #GameCenter in my upcoming #Categories game, but it fails to connect on iOS 17 beta 7 all the time. Can’t complete the data exchange this way… any tips?

Will focus on the achievements screen instead. I hope beta 8 fixes it…
