@recantha @biglesp had my gallbladder out in January, was fine with just that bottom scar aching for a week. The top 3 holes are for instruments. The bottom one is where they actually pull it out of. I did put dressings over the scabs to stop rubbing on clothes though

Well look at that hairy arm! Luckily managed to have a great Christmas and Boxing Day with the family but have now been in the hospital since Saturday waiting for surgery. Great care, constant IV drugs, food, private room and no one has asked for insurance details or a credit card!

Just in case any of my friends want an update 1-week post surgery: doing pretty well! I was quite worried until today, so it feels more normal after a week. First 4 days were heck: I'd forgotten the surgeon gave me an abdominal pain block Thursday morning that was to last 24 to 48 hours. Pretty much on the dot at 48 hours, suddenly I knew I really should not have tried moving around as much as I had been doing. Yowie, ouch ouch ouch!

Today is better but still no bending over. #GallBladder

I’ve spent 43 years without surgery… now it’s time to say goodbye to my #gallbladder tomorrow. Not really anxious, but I do want it to be done so I can start recovery… and have fried chicken. 🤣

Tomorrow I'll be parting ways with my shitty, stone riddled #gallbladder. It's been fun, but our journey has come to an end. It's not me, it's you.

It's basically going down the same way as last time I dropped by the OR for my #GastricSleeve op. Come in, get knocked out, have holes cut in my stomach, get inflated like a balloon, have some some slicing and dicing done, get deflated again, woken up, cleared, discharged and home again by evening. That's the plan at least.

If there was ever a great time to have a beer, I reckon it's now.

Looking to get my #gallbladder removed. Usually that would be done for free by the public health care system in #Denmark, but for some reason they're piled up into infinity, and offered me an operation primo 2025. After talking to #Patientkontoret (The Patient Office) which provides impartial guidance and advice about treatment options, they agreed to outsource the #operation to a private hospital. Waiting time there? 2 weeks. Including paperwork, I'll probably be ship shape in 1-2 months 😃
