One UI 9.0 Watch Beta 2 is now live for the Galaxy Watch6!

The One UI 9.0 beta program started for users with the Galaxy Watch6 in Korea and in the US. It provided several features that were introduced in this software update while providing several improvements.

Starting from today, One UI 9.0 Watch Beta 2 is now available for those who have already joined the beta program with the Galaxy Watch6 in the above countries mentioned.

This beta version of One UI 9.0 Watch is now available to fix some bugs and to incorporate general improvements across the whole operating system based on user feedback and internal evaluation, according to Alfatürk for the Galaxy Watch6.

One UI 9.0 Watch Beta 2 for the Galaxy Watch6 is available under build ZZI4. It’s a beta release designed to bring the following changes:

• Applied stabilization code for device operation
• Fixed WatchFace AOD errors
• Fixed AOD time data errors
• Fixed errors in the navigation bar, compass, and weather app.

We encourage you to please report all bugs found to the Beta program community so that Samsung will analyze your feedback and implement fixes and/or improvements based on them.

To update your watch to this beta version of One UI 9.0 Watch, first make sure that you are already in the beta program. Then, follow these steps:

1. Open Wearable > Watch Settings, and navigate to System Update
2. Tap on Check for Updates
3. Press Download and Install
4. Wait until the download and the installation is complete, then press Install
5. Wait until the phone reboots successfully

Make sure that you’re connected to a stable and fast Wi-Fi network to avoid high mobile data fees. Never interrupt the update in any way, or problems could occur later. Make sure that you apply all available updates once you update your phone for maximum stability. An update might take 10 to 20 minutes to apply, depending on the device and the type of the update being applied.

Earlier, Samsung opened the One UI 9.0 Watch Beta Program for the Galaxy Watch7 for users in the US and in Korea to try out the new One UI Watch version, which was already released to the Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 revealed this year.

While Samsung was working on One UI 9 Watch for the Galaxy Watch6 series, they opened the beta program. Starting from today, the Galaxy Watch6 series has officially started its beta program for One UI 9.0 according to Alfatürk.

The following firmware builds may have been selected:

• SM-R960: R960XXU2ZZI1 [KOO]
• SM-R950: R950XXU2ZZI1 [KOO]
• SM-R940: R940XXU2ZZI1 [KOO]
• SM-R930: R930XXU2ZZI1 [KOO]

Samsung has opened the beta program, and you can join the beta program through Samsung Members if your watch, your region, and your carrier is eligible. It’s expected to be available in both the US and Korea only, with Bluetooth and LTE versions being eligible for participation in the beta program, accordong to the rollout history. T-Mobile is the only participating carrier in the US.

You can participate to the Beta Program using Samsung Members on your phone using either a beta banner or the “Beta Program” page. In order to participate, follow these steps:

1. Ensure that your Galaxy Watch and your phone are both from the USA (XAA) or Korea (KOO) to ensure maximum compatibility
   • On your phone, open Settings > About phone > Software information, and look for “Service provider software version”. Make sure it contains XAA or KOO.
   • On your watch, unlock Developer settings by opening Settings > About > Software information and tapping “Software version” 4 times, and refer to the second line that contains your watch’s CSC. Make sure it contains XAA or KOO.
   • If you’re using the Galaxy Watch in the USA, make sure that you are on the active plan with T-Mobile.
2. Open Samsung Members
3. Scroll down to Beta Program
4. Search for entries like “One UI 9 Watch6 Beta”
5. Read the description and follow the steps on the screen
6. Press “Join”
7. Check for software updates

Please note that this Beta Program is for users to test all aspects of One UI 9 Watch and to report all bugs found.

Make sure that you have stable internet connectivity when downloading the update, as it can be large in size. When installing the update, make sure that your watch is fully charged and in a cold environment to avoid interruptions caused by heat and by low battery. Never interrupt the update installation in any way during the process, or you may face problems later.

Today, Samsung has shut down the One UI 8 Watch Beta program for the Galaxy Watch5 series, starting from Korea, which means that the beta testers can now download the stable version of One UI 8 Watch. This was a very long wait after the release of the stable version of One UI 8 Watch back in July for the Galaxy Watch8 and Watch Ultra.

One UI 8 Watch – Now Bar Configuration

A global rollout for the One UI 8 Watch update has started on November 26th for the Galaxy Watch6, a week after the Korean version got it on the 19th. As you can see in the official changelogs, we have seen visual changes, as well as functional changes and other improvements over the One UI 6 Watch that was released last November.

As we got our hands on the update now, we are showcasing how you can customize the Now Bar on your Galaxy Watch6.

In the Advanced Features section of your watch settings on either your phone or on your watch, you can configure the Now Bar on your watch. When “Show on Now Bar when media is playing on phone” is enabled, the Now Bar indicator will show up with the music icon, depending on how you configured the Now Bar for media.

The below settings allow you to configure the Now Bar for your watch.

When you go to one of the apps that support Now Bar, such as Google Play, Google Maps, and a few supported Samsung apps, you can configure whether the app will be shown as just the icon or the icon and the text.

The result is that, in the left picture, you’ll see the icon and the text, and in the right picture, you’ll just see the icon.

To obtain One UI 8 on your watch, you’ll have to be connected to a stable and fast Wi-Fi connection. If your watch is an LTE version, you’ll have to wait a bit longer (in the order of days or weeks).

We recommend that you update your watch manager in your phone to ensure compatibility with the latest software.

To update your watch, follow these steps:

• With your phone
  1. Open Galaxy Wearable
  2. Select your watch
  3. Open Watch settings
  4. Navigate to Software Update
  5. Tap Download and Install
  6. Wait until the update shows up, then press Download
  7. Wait until the update gets downloaded and copied to your watch, then press Install
• With your watch
  1. Open Settings
  2. Navigate to Software update
  3. Tap Download and Install
  4. Wait until the update shows up, then press Download
  5. Wait until it gets downloaded to your watch, then press Install
