  1. One UI 6.1.1 is close

With the announcement of Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10th, these devices use the One UI 6.1.1 software that brings even more awesome features, such as improvements to the Galaxy AI package. This update is expected to release to the Galaxy foldables and the tablets as early as August 2024.

This incremental release builds on top of One UI 6.1.1 that brings you several new features that are expected to release in your current foldables and tablets, such as Sketch to Image that converts simple sketches to digital art images using the advanced AI techniques shipped with this latest version of One UI 6.1.1.

In addition, One UI 6.1.1 introduces Portrait Studio that converts your portrait images, such as a portrait image of someone, to stylized digital painting using the same techniques (watercolor painting, comic book drawing, etc.), and Live Translate that gets expanded to many more applications instead of being limited to the Phone app in One UI 6.1.

In addition, the new Composer tool allows you to generate completions from just a simple text or query using the generative technology, and can even analyze your previous posts to generate text that looks like as if you’ve written it. You can now use the voice recorder to use the AI features directly in the Notes app.

Exclusive to the Z Fold 6 and the Z Flip 6, you can now try out the following features:

    • Dual-screen interpreter mode, first available in the Pixel Fold, allows you to have a more conversational environment with a foreigner by using the two screens in your foldable phone. Both of you can now converse with each other without having to sit or stand next to each other to see the translation.
    • Suggested Replies in your Flip 6 analyzes your last seven messages and suggests replies to your messages through the FlexWindow screen without having to flip your phone open. You can now use this feature in supported messaging applications.
    • Auto Zoom in your Flip 6 enhances the FlexCam by automatically zooming in to find the best framing for you. You don’t have to manually zoom in to get this framing.

This exciting version of One UI is going to be released on eligible foldable and tablets soon, while the One UI 7.0 update is still work in progress, and the first beta is expected to release on August for eligible devices and regions. One UI 7.0 is expected to also bring these Galaxy AI features.
