  3. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 gets the One UI 8 update!

We are excited to announce that starting from today, users can now download the One UI 8 update to their Galaxy Tab S10 tablets (thanks Mohammed Khatri) as Samsung has finally released this exciting version of One UI. Your Galaxy has now become more powerful as One UI 8 brings more powerful features.

    The firmware information states:

    • Galaxy Tab S10+: CYI5
    • Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra: CYI5

To obtain the update, perform the following steps:

    1. Open the Settings app
    2. Navigate to Software Updates
    3. Tap on Download and Install
    4. Wait until you see One UI 8 at the top of the page, then tap on Download
    5. Wait for the download to complete, then tap on Install

After you perform the above steps, your tablet will be running One UI 8 based on Android 16, and you can enjoy its new features and with many improvements on place. This makes sure that your experience gets improved.

If you still didn’t get the update for your device, wait for a few days or a few weeks, then check for updates again. If you still see “Your software is up to date,” this means that the update didn’t reach your region yet.

Note that the update process may take 15 to 20 minutes, and this can vary from device to device. The download process may incur extra charges if you’re using the cellular network as the update size is around 5 GB, depending on the device, so we recommend downloading it through Wi-Fi. Never interrupt the update process in any way, or problems may occur. Make sure that your phone gets charged before you initiate the installation process.

  4. Galaxy Tab S10 receives the August security update!

This month, Samsung has released the August security update for the Galaxy Tab S10, almost three months after the last security patch, which was the May update. This is expected, given that the tablet is eligible for quarterly security patch updates instead of the monthly ones.

This is a security update that improves your tablet’s security and upgrades your Android security patch level from May 2025 to August of this year to accommodate the security bugs that were reported from May to August. It also upgrades the bootloader version from v3 to v4 so that the rollback to previous updates becomes impossible.

Currently, it’s only available in Korea, but it will be expanded to other regions starting next week.

The following firmware information is available:

    • SM-X820: X820XXS4BYH1 [KOO]
    • SM-X826N: X826NKOS4BYH1 [KOO]
    • SM-X920: X920XXS4BYH1 [KOO]
    • SM-X926N: X926NKOS4BYH1 [KOO]

To update your tablet, navigate to Settings > Software Updates > Download and Install. Then, if the update is available, you should see the next update screen, and you can identify it with the above version applicable to your device model. Press Install Now, and let it download over Wi-Fi. After that, press Reboot. The tablet should then be updated to the August security patch.

Make sure that your tablet is fully charged before you attempt to initiate the update. Never interrupt the update in any way, or problems could occur later. Make sure to let your tablet download the update from Wi-Fi to avoid mobile data charges.

  6. Here’s your first look of One UI 7 Beta in the Galaxy Tab S10!

Samsung has recently released the beta version of the upcoming version of One UI that was highly anticipated – called One UI 7, which first launched with the Galaxy S25 series and all devices released this year – for the 5G version of the Galaxy Tab S10 series. The beta version of One UI 7 contained many improvements and new features, including the new, bold design that is simple, natural, and intuitive.

One UI 7 Beta was recently released for the Galaxy Tab S10 series in Korea, where Korean users can get to test this version of One UI and send feedback before the stable release that will start in April for the latest devices. According to a recent Samsung Members post to the tablet forums, we now have the first look of One UI 7 Beta for tablets.

The app drawer for tablets has only seen one improvement. That is the search bar that has now moved to the bottom of the screen. Other than that, there is wasted space at the left and the right edges of the screen. The status bar didn’t get thicker on tablets, unlike the smartphones that got the thicker status bar.

Alongside that, the notification center and the Quick Panel screens still need some refinement, including the usage of the entire screen space to put both the notification center and the Quick Panel together in one screen to make better use of the screen. This results in a huge waste of screen space if the current implementation has been pushed to stable versions, and we hope that there will be improvements regarding this area.

Then, Good Lock’s UI has actually been updated to make use of the screen real estate fully, and this is actually good. LockStar and HomeUp are still not optimized for One UI 7 for tablets, so you can’t run those Good Lock modules.

The Settings application didn’t see any major design changes except that the icon placeholders have turned from squircles to circles to align with the latest One UI 7 design goals. The tablet is running the ZYC2 version of One UI 7, which is packed with the March 2025 security patch, based on Android 15.

This is not our review, however, because we, like all others, are waiting for One UI 7 to roll out to all supported devices.

So, tell us your opinion, how do you like the tablet version of One UI 7?
