Un Samsung Galaxy S24 explotó en la mano de su usuario en Corea del Sur

Un usuario surcoreano denunció que su Galaxy S24 emitió humo, generó calor extremo y explotó mientras navegaba por internet sin estar conectado a la corriente. No es un caso aislado: la serie S24 acumula varios reportes similares y una actualización de software reciente agravó los problemas de batería en miles de dispositivos (Fuente Reddit).

El 11 de mayo de 2026, un usuario en Corea del Sur vivió un momento de terror con su smartphone. La persona denunció que su Galaxy S24 comenzó a emitir humo de forma repentina, generó calor extremo y finalmente explotó mientras navegaba por internet. El teléfono no estaba conectado al cargador en ese momento. Según el relato publicado en Reddit, el dispositivo primero comenzó a hincharse rápidamente, luego emitió humo, calor extremo y finalmente estalló en la mano del usuario. La parte inferior del teléfono se abrió durante el incidente, lo que habría atenuado la gravedad de las lesiones, limitándolas a ampollas menores por quemadura.

Las condiciones del incidente resultan llamativas porque eliminan las causas más habituales de estos fallos. El usuario aclaró que el teléfono no tenía golpes previos, nunca había sido reparado y utilizaba el cargador original de Samsung. Los bomberos que respondieron al llamado determinaron in situ que los signos eran consistentes con una ignición de batería de litio. Samsung habría solicitado el dispositivo para una investigación interna, sin ofrecer mayores explicaciones de momento.

No es la primera vez que la serie S24 aparece en este tipo de reportes. A comienzos de 2026, un usuario europeo denunció en el foro oficial de Samsung que la batería de un Galaxy S24 explotó violentamente expulsándose de la carcasa del teléfono que usaba su hijo de 12 años, y que la compañía rechazó toda responsabilidad argumentando que el dispositivo estaba fuera de garantía. Existe además un post eliminado de Reddit de 2024 en el que se mostraba un Galaxy S24 Ultra que supuestamente había tomado fuego, aunque la baja frecuencia de estos reportes en relación al volumen de ventas de la serie sugiere que por ahora se trata de casos aislados.

El panorama se complica porque la línea S24 ya venía sufriendo otro problema de batería de naturaleza diferente pero igualmente preocupante. Desde la actualización de seguridad de abril de 2026, propietarios de Galaxy S24 y S25 comenzaron a reportar un drenaje de batería severo y sobrecalentamiento inusuales. Algunos usuarios indicaron que su batería se agotaba en menos de tres horas, mientras que otro reportó que su teléfono llegaba a cero en apenas dos horas de uso normal. Varios usuarios identificaron a Knox Matrix, la plataforma de seguridad de Samsung profundamente integrada en el hardware del dispositivo, como la posible responsable del consumo excesivo de recursos en segundo plano.

El calor sostenido que genera ese drenaje anormal representa una preocupación adicional, ya que las altas temperaturas mantenidas en el tiempo pueden deteriorar la salud de la batería y el rendimiento general del dispositivo. Samsung aún no emitió una respuesta oficial sobre ninguno de los dos frentes. Samsung oficjalnie ogłosił rozpoczęcie procesu wdrażania aktualizacji nakładki systemowej One UI 8.5.

Nowy pakiet oprogramowania koncentruje się przede wszystkim na rozszerzeniu możliwości sztucznej inteligencji Galaxy AI, stawiając na usprawnienie codziennej komunikacji oraz dostarczenie nowych narzędzi kreatywnych dla użytkowników smartfonów i tabletów.

Co nowego w One UI 8.5?

Choć dokumentacja prasowa tradycyjnie posługuje się ogólnikami o „ulepszeniu doświadczeń”, istotnym (tak się przynajmniej wydaje) elementem aktualizacji jest głębsza integracja funkcji AI z systemem. Samsung stawia na dwa główne filary:

• Komunikacja: udoskonalone narzędzia tłumaczenia i edycji tekstu w czasie rzeczywistym.
• Kreatywność: nowe opcje obróbki zdjęć i materiałów wideo, które mają być jeszcze prostsze w obsłudze dzięki wsparciu algorytmów.

Lista wspieranych urządzeń

Aktualizacja One UI 8.5 nie jest zarezerwowana wyłącznie dla najdroższych flagowców. Samsung zapowiedział dostępność oprogramowania dla imponującej liczby modeli z różnych półek cenowych oraz obu typów składaków.

Oprogramowanie trafi na następujące urządzenia:

One UI 8.5 Beta 10 is out [Galaxy S25]!

One UI 8.5 has made a significant appearance, with new features and other improvements. Samsung has first unveiled One UI 8.5 on December 8th, 2025, when it was available as a beta for the Galaxy S25 series users who are living in the following countries:

• Korea
• United States of America
• United Kingdom
• India
• Poland
• Germany

During the beta program, several beta versions were released and the Galaxy S26 with One UI 8.5 was unveiled. Since then, the beta program has been expanded and the first two middle-ranger devices, which are the Galaxy A57 and A37 phones, have been released with One UI 8.5 out of the box for people who are unable to afford the premium series.

This beta version of One UI 8.5 is going to be the end of the One UI 8.5 Beta chapter, and the stable rollout of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 in Korea is expected to begin at the end of this month, with May being the stable rollout month for the rest of the countries, including USA, India, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

We are very thrilled to announce that Samsung has released the tenth beta version of One UI 8.5 (build ZZDD) that has the following changes:

• New features added
  • Added new AI features
• Bugs that have been fixed
  • Fixed an issue where the incoming call screen appears late or shows a black screen when receiving a call
  • Fixed a proximity sensor error during calls
  • Fixed an issue where green lines appear when recording videos in 4K HDR with the camera in certain 3rd party apps
  • Improved Bluetooth crash issues
  • Improved multi-touch malfunction after using accessibility magnification
• Many other improvements

Prior to this beta version, we had the following beta versions for the Galaxy S25 series (dates are for the Korean model, SM-S938N):

To join the Beta Program, you must have the latest version of Samsung Members installed. You can get the latest version through either the Galaxy Store or the Play Store. Once done, you should be able to join the program if you have an eligible device. You can see the status of your joining process here.

We’ll inform you if and when the stable release of One UI 8.5 starts. After that, Samsung should reveal the information about the eligible models for the update, with expected dates in the order of months, and we’ll reveal them for the Korean models.

To obtain the update, follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app
2. Navigate to Software update
3. Tap on Download and Install
4. You should be able to see the update information.
5. Click on Install now, let it download and install, and click on Reboot. Make sure that you download the update through Wi-Fi.

This security update should take 5 to 10 minutes maximum to install once your phone reboots. Make sure that you have the phone charged fully before initiating the update process to avoid interruptions. Back up your data to your PC, the cloud, or any other device in case the update went wrong. Don’t interrupt the update process, or you’ll experience problems later.

One UI 8.5 Beta 10 is expected to make its way to beta users today!
