Darüber wurde ich nur auf Nachfrage informiert, mein Geld hat der Händler 10 Tage behalten. In der Antwort wurde dann noch gefragt, was ich denn gemacht hätte, dass "das System" für "Fraud" angeschlagen hätte?
Ich habe meinen sehr normalen Bestellvorgang beschrieben und meine Iritation geäußert, dass sie nicht wissen warum ihr System anschlägt. (Vermutlich KI-Blackbox?)
Darauf habe ich keine Antwort mehr bekommen.

Mir wäre nicht bewusst, dass irgendein Betriebssystem seine Zeitepoche im Jahr 1894 beginnt. Bei allen Unixen ist's bekanntermaßen der 1.1.1970 (#Unixtime), beim alten MacOS (vor MacOS X) war's der 1.1.1906 🤷 und bei manchen Systemen scheint auch der 1.1.1900 als Beginn der Zeitepoche vorzukommen. Aber 1894? 🤔

Back in Business, die #Ferien waren wie immer viel zu kurz aber sehr erholsam.
Gestern, nach rund 1500 KM Strecke, auf der Autobahn einen Platten gefangen, #TCS war superschnell zur Stelle. Na ja, zum Glück in der Schweiz und nicht auf der DE Autobahn...
Jetzt erst mal #Swisscom Abo gekündigt -> deren Preispolitik passt nicht mehr zu mir. Mal sehen, wie das bei #Galaxus läuft.

ihr Menschis, Nicht-Menschis und alles dazwischen da draußen.Was könnt ihr so als Alternativen zu Amazon empfehlen, zum Einkaufen? Also für Technik habe ich bislang #Galaxus, #Alternate, #computeruniverse, #mindfactory etc.
Aber was kann man für Kleidung und anderes nutzen? Für Franchises kenne ich auch nur emp und Elbenwald.
Kennt ihr noch anderes aus der EU, Europa oder anderen Ländern wie z.B. Kanada? (Hauptsitz)

Natürlich habe ich Push-Meldungen aktiviert, bspw. für Versandbenachrichtigungen. Leider bekommt man da so viel Werbung gepusht, das Otto wieder vom Telefon geflogen ist. 😕
Ich probiere mein Glück derzeit bei #Galaxus. Mal schauen, wie die sich so schlagen, auch preislich. Bislang jedenfalls kein Spam. -

Auch in E-Mails an den Kundendienst machte sich Ärger Luft: In einer Nachricht, die dem "Hamburger Abendblatt" vorliegt, fühlt sich ein AfD-Wähler als "Idiot" abgestempelt – und kündigt an, nie wieder bei dem Händler zu kaufen.
Wenn #afd'ler sich als Idioten sehen, dann werden die es auch sein. Wer sich den Schuh anzieht.

Wollte mal ein Weihnachtsgeschenk nicht bei #Amazon kaufen und hab #Galaxus probiert. Auswahl und Preise fand ich OK. Aber dann der Bestellvorgang: keine Lieferung an Abholstation (ich bin halt nicht immer da, der Kiosk aber schon), und die Adressverwaltung ist kaputt. Das wird wohl nichts :-(
Welchen anderen Shop könnt ihr noch empfehlen? Reichelt und Mindfactory haben das Produkt nicht.

Galaxus TV and I

Galaxus is the Swiss Amazon, or at least one option. I first came across when I was buying tech toys via Digitec. They then bought Galaxus, and then Migros bought them.
They provide an opportunity to buy Raspberry Pi, Continental GP 5000 tires, Apple iPhones, Merkur razors and much more. One of the great things about this online shop is that it interfaces with plenty of other shops and it provides you with an estimate for when things will be delivered. In so doing it is a convenient, and intuitive to buy stuff we do and do not need.
Over the past year they have been diversifying their offer to include mobile telephony, fixed line internet access and most recently, Galaxus TV. It is built around Zattoo's tech. Zattoo is a web streaming service that offers TV programs that are broadcast via satellite to be accessed without the installation of a dish. This is good for people living in apartments where installing a dish is less intuitive.
Where it differs from Swisscom TV and other service providers is that it offers you the option of recording up to 1000 programs, with no scheduling limit like EPGs used to have via satellite. This means that you can set a series link for The Simpsons, Frasier, and Grand Designs.
The other advantage, and this is where it is great, compared to Swisscom TV, is that for 11 CHF per month you have access to these channels, and because you can record TV without paying 23 CHF per month (the last time I checked) you can browse the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and find programs you want to watch, set them to record, and the next day watch them at your convenience, and skip ads.
With Galaxus TV I am tempted to cancel my netflix subscription and rely on Freeview once again. Years ago I was very happy with satellite TV. It's only because of student accommodation, or living in an apartment that I moved to Netflix and other options.
With this, when the Tour De France is on, I can watch it.
You can add all the British, French channels from France, ARTE and Swiss French channels to quickly find content in languages that you understand. I'm especially happy to have MoreFour and other Four channels.
Now when Attenborough, or British presenters mention their new shows, I can once again watch them with ease.
There is one little drawback. Programs remain for a week, before being made unavailable, so if you set something to record, it's good to watch it within a day or two, and it's good not to allow your back log to become too deep.
I don't want to spend my days catching up. I just want an hour or two of content, that I can watch in the evening.
And Finally
With Galaxus TV, I once again get good access to European made content with ease. Netflix has more and more international content but at this moment in time I am quite happy to suspend payments to US based companies, in favour of those based anywhere else in the world. If I can support a Swiss company, rather than a US one. I am happy. I haven't cancelled Netflix yet, but Galaxus fills that content niche quite nicely.
It also makes choosing content much easier. Watch it within a week or wait until they broadcast repeats.

Es klingelt ganz kurz. Ich schaue aus dem Fenster und sehe grade noch einen Paketlieferwagen von #Planzer wegdüsen. Will rausgehen und das Paket vor der Haustüre reinholen. Und was sehe ich da vor meiner Wohnungstüre? Zwei andere Pakete, wohl heute morgen ganz ohne Klingeln mit der Schweizerischen Post gekommen. 🤬
Aber nette Nachbarn habe ich, die die Pakete offensichtlich ins Treppenhaus hereingetragen haben.

Switching from Swisscom To Galaxus

This morning the transition from Swisscom to Galaxus was completed. I moved from Swisscom to Galaxus because it's up to 50 CHF cheaper. Whereas I was paying about 70 CHF with Swisscom I now pay 19 CHF per month when I am within Switzerland, and I can pay 39 CHF per month when roaming in Europe. The one issue with this is that if I switch to roaming then it lasts for two months, not one before I can switch back.
Coverage
Swisscom has better coverage, in most places, so by switching to Galaxus I have to deal with lack of coverage in some places. This is because Galaxus uses the Sunrise network, rather than Swisscom. When hiking or in some buildings I lose network access.
Transfer Duration
If you want to get an esim it takes a few hours to get connected but if you want to migrate your phone number from your old provider to your new one it can take up to two months. I expected that the switch would be within a day or two.
If I had been waiting for my contract obligations to end then I would have understood the two month wait, but I have been out of contractual obligations for half a decade or more. I expected the switch to be by the end of the current month, rather than the end of the following month.
Switched in the Afternoon
The Switch took place between 13:11 and 14:11 yesterday. I expected it to be overnight, and to wake up to the message that the transfer had been completed.
My Swisscom sim was deactivated so that phone was offline. It then took a while for Galaxus to make the transfer. Rather than use the esim I already had they asked me to download a new esim, and that's when I was on Galaxus with my old Swisscom number.
It took a while longer for the Galaxus cockpit to update with the right number. It's at this point that I could create a secondary esim for the backup phone. The backup sim is so that I can use Apple Car play when I use the car that doesn't have the Android equivalent.
The Long Wait
I have been thinking of leaving Swisscom due to their expensive contract for years, but I could not find another contract that offered unlimited data at a good price in Switzerland until Galaxus came along with their offer. I have used an Android phone with Galaxus for two months and so far I have not been nagged about going over the limit.
Porting Specific
If you get a Galaxus SIM for testing, and then you decide to port your contract from one provider to another make sure to cancel the test account as soon as the port is accepted. I expected that when I ported my Swisscom number to Galaxus it would change the phone number but preserve the old esim. It doesn't. It counts the port as being applied to a new number and a new esim.
In Summary
When you're porting your number from one telecom operator to another, if you have a test account to see if you like the service, then as soon as you decide to port cancel the test account and revert to your current provider while waiting for the port. The day before the port you will get an e-mail saying "the port will take place from Time A to Time B".
When the port is done you will get an e-mail with the new esim, scan the QR code and within a few seconds you will have the old number on the new contract. That's it. You're done.
