Frackin toasters! I had the opportunity to playtest an early version of this Battlestar roguelite months ago and really enjoyed it. It releases today!
It's got a great art and music style and feels very Stellaris-inspiried. Fighting the Cylons feels super intense, just like the show.

Enjoy #galactica Season 2 . It along with Season 3 and The #Resistance mini series about life in occupied New #Caprica are too good. Blurs the line on what is right and acceptable#Cain is no anti-hero. She is a first rate B***h.
Her cruelty, as seen in #Razor and her driving her subordinates to disregard any morality, like what she did to #KendraShaw, is appalling. She lacks empathy and any morality. Fighting against a #genocidal species of #robots, can do that -
@DanMorgan Admiral #Cain of #Pegasus was portrayed beautifully by #MichelleForbes. We should not overlook that both, #Adama and President #Roslyn, wanted #Cain assassinated, just as #Cain wanted #Adama gone. Just shows how brutal and cut throat the politics and power play were in the 12 colonies of #Cyrannus star system.
Makes one wonder about #Adama's speech at the start of the series, where he rhetorically ask whether and humanity is worth saving.

@liquidparanoia what is required is either a reboot or additional stories which are set in the #BattleStar #Galactica universe. It remains till date the best sci-fi #space #opera and #SciFiSeries.
The awesome work done by Ronald Moore needs to be carried forward. There are 12 worlds a lot of stories to be told. What happened in the first #CylonWar. What preceded that. What happened after that. What happened in the #exodus. A whole mythology to be built on. -
I was reminded again about how wonderful the original #BattlestarGalactica theme tune was. The premise also is truly delicious. I didn't much care for the ending of the #Galactica reboot but perhaps a reboot of a reboot could be in order? The theme of #AI is even more relevant today than ever before. I would love to see more of their lives and struggles, the balance between technology and ludditism. The human spirit.
The reboot reboot should use the original theme music!

Löysin viikonloppuna ihan muuta etsiessä vuosia sitten joululahjaksi saadun Battlestar Galactica - Original series bluray-boksin. Sitä tuli aikanaan telkkarista tapitettua silmät suurina, vaikka siinä olikin sen ikäisen mielestä ihan liikaa tylsää puhetta 😆 Voimakkaita muistikuvia oli kuitenkin jäänyt, cylonien "silmien" liike (joka sitten vielä K.I.T.T:iinkin on kopioitu), hävittäjien turbo ja fire -nappulat sun muut. Lahjapaketti oli täysi yllätys, mutta hautautui jonnekin kaapin perälle kun en kertakaikkiaan uskaltanut katsoa. Oli nimittäin aika voimakas epäilys että tämä ei ole kestänyt aikaa.
Nyt sitten uteliaisuus kuitenkin voitti. Eilen katsoin pilottijakson, joka tuntui ihan loputtoman pitkältä. No se olikin kolmen jakson mittaininen - se siis oikeasti OLI pitkä, eikä vain sen tuntuinen 😄
Melkoinen nostalgiatrippi kyllä, "ai toi musa oli tästä", ai niin noi, ja se, tämä ja tuo! Ja sitten toisaalta kaikki se läppä mikä oli muksuna mennyt ihan täysin ohi. "Sosialaattori on yli 4000v vanha, täysin kunniallinen ammatti!" 😏 70-lukulaiset tehosteet on mitä on, mutta itseäni oikeastaan viehättää se asioiden analogisuus - viimeistä huutoa olevien Viper-hävittäjien ohjauspaneeli on täynnä metallisia keinukytkimiä joista asioita laitetaan päälle ja pois eikä mitään helvetin kosketusnäyttöjen hiplaamista. Kunnollista! Epäilyttävästi oskilloskooppia muistuttavat viher-musta-monitorit erilaisina grafiikkanäyttöinä. Yms.
Äsken kattelin seuraavat kaksi jaksoa kun oli jatkotarina. Kun päällimmäinen nostalgiahyöky meni pilottijaksossa ohi niin voi hyvä helvetti että ainakin tämän toisen jakson käsikirjoitus oli HUONO 🤣 Jos joku sattuu muistamaan niin olis mielenkiintoista tietää että paraneeko se tuosta alkukompuroinnin jälkeen vai oliko se noin päätöntä ja epäloogista kohkaamista koko sarja? Varmaan nyt ainakin muutama jakso täytyy vielä katsoa, mutta jos meno on tuommoista niin ei tuota kyllä selvinpäin kestä 😆
Tämän tiimoilta törmäsin kyllä sitten myös uudestaan siihen tietoon että Galactican seikkailuistahan on tehty uusi versio joka ilmeisesti on jopa ihan kehuttu. Muistan asiasta jonkun uutisen nähneeni aikanaan mutta oli muuta kiirettä elämässä, nyt heräsi kiinnostus: jos tästä modernimpi, oikeasti hyvä versio olemassa niin 😋 Sarjan perusidea kun sattuu olemaan toinen mun lempitarinoista scifissä: ensimmäinen on se että ihmiskunta on lähdössä maapallolta ensimmäistä kertaa, ja se toinen on että ollaan niin kaukana tulevaisuudessa että Maa on hukkunut historiaan ja sitä koitetaan etsiä.

– battle debris in empty space
– radioactive signatures
– the ruins on #Kobol
– the wreck of #Pegasus
– the abandoned #Cylon colony
– and yes, the remains of the central Cylon hub#Space is a museum with no weathering. 9)

Rewatching Battlestar #Galactica and thinking about something rarely discussed: the possibility that huge numbers of people actually survived on the #12Colonies after the #Cylon withdrawal. The show focuses on the Fleet, but the destruction of humanity may not have been as absolute as the narrative suggests. 🧵

@menneisyytesi (Uudesta) #Galactica'sta tehdyllä #etkosarja'lla #Caprica oli paljolti sama vika. Paukut oli käytetty ensimmäiseen sarjaan, eikä etkoa suinkaan kirjoitettu siitä vaiheesta, joka olisi sen perusteella vaikuttanut kiinnostavimmalta – Galacticassa Kobolin- ja GOT:ssa Valyrian-ajasta.

The current push to "use #llm for #coding" and "let #agents of #llm with do that" everywhere makes me feel a lot like coding is preparing for the start of the Battlestar #Galactica (2003 - with Edward James Olmos) series, where the old ship is the only one that works when it counts.

Such an amazing show!Caprica and Blood & Chrome, I didn't like as much as Battlestar, but I enjoyed them all.

They kinda wrote themselves into a corner with the ending of 1978 Battlestar finding audio of the Apollo 11 landing.
I would have liked to see a series take a current day Earth and uplift them to fight the Cylons.
