In Japan, the Takaichi regime is siding with the US government, and holding back Japan's progress, by keeping the country dependent on the Oil & Gas industry.
Takaichi-san says things like, "Japan will defend itself against China." This is a naked power grab, since China has not fired a single missile, or even a single bullet against Japan.
The USA nuked Japan twice, then occupied Japan for 20 years, altering its history, as victors do. Japan emerged a subordinate to the USA, utterly dependant on its former colonizers. Churches sprung up in Japan, insidiously spreading Christianity, the religion with the most blood on its hands, in the entire history of the Earth.
China lifted the most people out of poverty in human history.
The USA motivates with the stick, barging into Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, bombing Iran etc. The USA spends far more on defense, than the next few countries, combined.
China motivates with the carrot, helping Africa with its belt and road initiative, making them friendly, and obligated to China. When was the last time China was at war? When did they last bomb a country?
On top of all this, you and I personally, are richer than the USA, because the USA is trillions of dollars in debt, to China, no less.
Let's choose trading partners well. Go against the US, and they will bomb you. With China, the risk is accepting too many favors, and feeling obligated and beholden.
Japan should be trading with China, and importing inexpensive Chinese solar panels and solar kits, to become energy independent, and not be a vassal to the USA, a failed state, on the brink of collapse.
My proposal is for Japan to increase trade with China while remaining a sovereign nation, not to join China's exclusive economic zone.
India and China sporadically rattle swords at their borders, just enough for the politicians in both countries to justify their military budgets, stoking jingoistic sentiments in media, and remaining in power by claiming to be master strategists protecting national interests through tactful diplomacy. A few years ago, media reported a "violent conflict at the Indo-Chinese border", though the video footage showed roughly a dozen Chinese soldiers fighting a dozen Indian soldiers, by a river bank in the Himalayas, without guns or even bayonets. They were just men, stationed far from civilization, having a brawl, at fisticuffs to work out their tensions. It was amusing, rather than disturbing.
India is a huge importer of Chinese goods, and the countries are trading partners. While Indian people love Chinese cuisines, adapted to local tastes, India remains culturally independent of China.
China and Japan also have some old beef, though nothing as bad as the USA nuking Japan twice and occupying the country for 20 years.
Japan is a part of the American hegemony, and America has a huge influence on the modern Japanese mindset. Young Japanese people try to emulate American culture, play J-pop, a shallow copy of American music, and even dye their hair blonde.
We increasingly live in the Free Software world. All source code is public, and auditable by all. All data exchange protocols are open standards.
So I don't understand what ideological or pragmatic objections Japan should have, to picking the winner, and why the Takaichi regime is hellbent on aligning Japan with the loser.
1) Use solar energy and gain energy independence.
2) Avoid American militarism and save on defense expenditure.
