zOMG! is both my reaction and one of the things I remember most fondly about Gaia Online. It was truly my first escape into the internet in general when I was in late middle school, so literally 13. And this was both great and bittersweet because I have fond memories from back then but I also have memories that I don't necessarily cringe at but have sympathy for my past self for the stuff she did ;
I think this is also the time that I was pushing myself ever deeper into the internet because even though I didnt have a computer or a phone, I used the OG DS Lite with a GAME CARTRIDGE called Internet Browser that came with a memory booster you stuck into the gba slot. And that was how I did a majority of my web browsing... Waiting ages for html pages to load, not being able to load flashes...
When zOMG! came out I'm pretty sure that was my first mmo of that caliber, and I loved the ring power system and I remember fighting gnomes and kokeshi dolls with random people and me being helpful with rez or heal rings. It was my peak reason for loving it, especially when my Mom was just having me slink farther and farther away from her emotionally with her behavior when I was just a preteen. Maybe it was because I was old enough to question if I deserved better.
Also GETTING INTO RP ON THE FORUMS AND PMS!!
