This is where we can civilly explore the disconnect between the accelerating environmental #polycrisis and increasing denial of the causes. We’ll examine these challenges and ways to respond through an ecocentric Gaian lens. Join us if you want to talk politics.

Daylight savings time shifts our clocks around, but our circadian rhythms are also shaped by the natural world we belong to.
Gaian meditation encourages getting outdoors morning, noon, and evening - to observe, breathe, and reconnect with the real, natural world. A practice good for what one might call our soul, but also essential for our overall health and wellbeing.

Almost all the leaves have fallen for the winter, and the forests are now bare. Wind gusts through the woods, but some leaves stay latched to their host trees. This persistence of plant parts that typically shed is called Marcescence. Jon Schroth, designer of the #CyclesOfGaia
poster, reflected upon this phenomenon while hiking: -

As part of our Cycles of Gaia ecological calendar project, we’ve been sharing an insight each month on one of the member species of the calendar, or some other ecological element of the Northeast Coastal Zone (southern New England) drawn out by the calendar. This month, in celebration of the yuletide holiday season, we focus on the Winterberry Holly.

Coming soon to a country near you: The not-so-subtle shift to #Adaptation ?
Sometime back, Bloomberg Green posted an article about #Singapore spending $170 million to build climate defenses for a luxury store mall. Located in “a natural depression,” the area was once home to nutmeg plantations and pepper farms, and like all the Elm Streets in America where elm trees no longer reside, it is dystopicly named “Orchard Road.”

The image of smoldering plastic in a little pit on the side of the street, white wisps of smoke dancing up, burned forever in my brain....

I'm quite excited and proud to see this article, "Following the Gaian Way," published in the Harvard Divinity Bulletin. No, I didn't write it, didn't even contribute to it, but I support and participate in this new religious movement. My thirst for academic legitimacy is slaked for a day!

I'm fasting today in honor of the Worm Moon, and not coincidentally a "Gaian Moon Fasting Prayer" has just been published. https://gaianism.org/the-gaian-moon-fasting-prayer/ Not my initiative but I'm happy with the text and proud to have made some small contributions to it. #Gaia #GaianWay #Ecospiritual
