Yesterday I went to Minute Man National Historic Park for Parks on the Air. I did Morse code only on 20 meters at 20 watts.
Good coverage into the Southeast and Midwest. With a great DX (long distance) contact into Sweden.

Had a lot of fun activating OE/NO-258 Gaisstein at 978m/3195,5ft on 2m/10m/15m.

Can you spot the lizard next to my #g90? It stayed by my side for a long time, enjoyed the sun and bugs it hunted. 😆

16 S2S and 39 QSOs in total in 3hrs, from Wales to Valenzia to Moskow.

Trying for the 1st time the #chameleon MPAS 2.0 vertical ANT in the Tasmanian Tiger ruck. Again: Far too heavy for #sota but suitable for #Emcomm. Just another experiment.

На этот раз немного про Xiegu G90 и модем к нему. Когда-то купил и использовал даже на CB (JS8 на 27245 кГц). Но одна беда - периодически отваливался. Проверено на нескольких компьютерах и операционках. Сегодня посмотрел распиновку ACC порта и просто припаял в моно 2 джека 3,5. Работает со встроенной звуковой картой без проблем. Так что, если захочется в цифру с этого замечательного аппаратика, есть смысл прикупить только штекеры и до встречи в эфире! :)

"Fix Your Radio Hour" a success, except I forgot to take a photo of my operating position at Burns Park in Ann Arbor under the shelter. (Very civilized, with a picnic table to set up on, and a handy nail to hang my 2 meter roll-up J-pole antenna.)

I have borrowed a #XieguG90 to use as a portable HF station, and I have an offer to borrow an end-fed random wire antenna. This would be the park to operate all that from. The #G90 is in a very nice go kit.

На #radio трансивере #Xiegu #G90 вскрыл корпус и посмотрел что там с динамиком. Стоит совсем уж пищалка, но заменить на другой не смог - размер замены великоват. И пищалка практически не имеет глубины и есть шанс что при громких звуках упирается в корпус. Заметно при разговорах - громкие голоса "звенели". Сделал мягкие пластиковые шайбы на пару-тройку миллиметров. Проверил на вещалке 999кГц на всю громкость - всё ок, звона нет, немного появились низы (если на этом можно их так назвать).

Looking to get myself a #G90 for some portable #hamradio fun once I upgrade my license in a few weeks. Does anyone know of any boxes similar to the Xiegu G90 though? More options to look in to would always be appreciated. QRP is not a requirement, but I would like something that's not too cumbersome to take around for doing some POTA.

Got a #Xiegu #G90 yesterday.

The big negative is that the Xiegu DE19 digital interface (that I got to go with it) has been nothing but trouble. I will likely be returning it and getting a signallink instead. The main reason I got this radio was to be able to do FT8 and related modes on more bands, so the interface situation has been disappointing.

Positively --- I made a lot of SSB Phone QSO's today. I have been surprised by how much more I'm being heard at 20 watts over 5 watts.

Found a different spot well away from foot traffic so I could put up a multi-band random wire w/9:1 balun. The #Xiegu #G90 tuned it up on every band in a second or less.

First time in the field with my new #Xiegu #G90 from #radioddity. Received several comments on great audio quality and broke through a couple of pileups (or at least got lucky) with only 20W. Impressed! Can't argue with that view from the op position.
