Il y a 20 ans je venais de recevoir mon tout premier #Mac, un #iMac #G5 et je suivais les #JO depuis mon Mac grâce à #EyeTV, JO qui étais à #Turin. et 20 ans plus tard ils sont de nouveaux en #Italie et je les suis de nouveau depuis mon Mac mais aussi depuis mon iPhone.

Ok, had a weekend off and relaxed yesterday night doing some retro computing.
Installed #MacOSXServer #Tiger on the old #PowerMac #G5. Luckily I remembered that this machine does boot from a USB pen drive when ones uses the right commands in #OpenFirmware.

Services started: #blojsom and the #WebObjects server.

Yesterday evening I unceremoniously and sadly deleted, one by one, every app every photo every video and every document - all data from icloud - using a lovely pink iPad Mini.

The day before was the same, for several iphones, then a purged Apple Watch too. The laptops were before, long ago. My favorite was the 1Ghz Titanium G4 PowerBook - I'll always miss that perfection.

So, goodbye to modern Apple Inc. I loved your ways and means, your engineering prowess, industrial design, and the inspiration in every direction offered over so many decades.

I'm keeping the water-cooled Quad Core G5 PowerMac (PPC64 970MP A1177). You can attempt to pry it from my cold dead hands alongside a GP101... but please do not touch that one last, beautiful, and forever best example of IBM + Apple innovation - before Apple leadership sold out to Intel, pushed upon every emacs user the worthless Touchbar, and the scissor-chicklet keyboards with a lawsuit. But never forget Liquidass, crowning achievement and example of Apple's downfall.

How sad; sorry about your demise, Apple. I'll miss who you once were.

#MacOSXTiger a été la version sur laquelle j'ai débarqué en arrivant dans le monde #Apple et je me souviens encore très bien de ce bonheur sur mon #iMac #G5 (fin 2005). Truly an amazing night for aurora here in southern BC. There are so many beautiful photos being posted. And here, we could actually see some dark red with the bare eye, the entire sky danced for ages. I'm not going to add any more aurora pics but the moon did a really weird thing here that I thought was interesting enough to post. It stayed behind the knob of mountain and never actually rose but it did this amazing glow up. I didn't edit this photo, this is right out of my daughter's phone.
