I just watched "In the Shadow of the Moon" (2019) and it reminded me of Alex Garland's "Civil War" (2024), even though I've yet to watch the latter.

I enjoyed & am fascinated by ITSOTM, and am looking forward to CW.

I really enjoyed the For All Mankind season 4 finale episode. I enjoyed the overall season too, and all four seasons so far.

I will not ellaborate at this time. Maybe some other time when I have energy left. But meanwhile I'm sure like at least a dozen YouTube channels are just /gushing/ over the finale as we speak/type these words and hit, 'Publish!'

As has been well-established for quite some time now, the problem with social media is mainly sociological not technological. Even technological adjustments to social media sorely need to be firmly grounded on good sociological analyses.

…And anyone can distrust and/or vilify Marshall McLuhan all they want, but that doesn't change the fact that we humans cannot not communicate, and that communication by default mostly err towards miscommunication.

Comparing the Explore Tab at Mastodon.social and Mastodon.cloud, and anecdotally at least I think the two Fediverse instances displays very similar (if not almost identical) set of posts/toots.

I have inadequate data/insight whether to call this good or bad.
