I think the piece on the left retains the look of the circuit board and is very cool looking. I rarely fire dichro this way, but suspected it would look better for the knobs. This method demands accurate cutting of small circles, which is a nuisance, but worth it.

Day four of the big #glass project. However, class image uploads were due yesterday, so no pressure now to finish. This may drag on and I won't bore you. Today I am getting two kiln runs done. First a short test run, then firing the replacement part sheet for the project.

I was discussing with some of you the knobs I am making for the IKEA bookshelves. I have this lovely piece of circuit board dichroic glass that will make awesome knobs in various cool colors. Dichro fires differently with a clear cap and without it. How do I want the knobs to look? This firing of tiny samples, without an annealing step, will take under an hour and the kiln will be cooled off in 3-4 hours. Then the part sheet can go in for a six hour firing and six hour cool off. Meanwhile, I have more IKEA to assemble. 🙄
