Day four of the big #glass project. However, class image uploads were due yesterday, so no pressure now to finish. This may drag on and I won't bore you. Today I am getting two kiln runs done. First a short test run, then firing the replacement part sheet for the project.

I was discussing with some of you the knobs I am making for the IKEA bookshelves. I have this lovely piece of circuit board dichroic glass that will make awesome knobs in various cool colors. Dichro fires differently with a clear cap and without it. How do I want the knobs to look? This firing of tiny samples, without an annealing step, will take under an hour and the kiln will be cooled off in 3-4 hours. Then the part sheet can go in for a six hour firing and six hour cool off. Meanwhile, I have more IKEA to assemble. 🙄

Day three of big #glass project. It's a good thing the instructor said upload photos of what you have, because I am definitely not going to finish by Saturday noon. After hubby fixed the lap grinder for me, I went to work grinding last night and discovered a major measurement error on my part! 🙄

I am going to create a new small stringer sheet today which will get fired tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to have a properly fit component by Saturday morning so I can upload a good image. In the meantime, I have to cut and fit a placeholder so I can move on. I also have to work around a major piece that didn't break right. Thank goodness this isn't being graded!

The upside is going to be some beautiful jewelry from the set aside pieces. 🎉

Thanks to @mlanger for putting a beatiful wire frame and chain on one of my cabs. It has arrived and looks so much better IRL than a photo could capture. The wire is silver, but the photo doesn't show it well.

One thing I stumbled on that I *will* be buying at some point is some twisted fiber rope.

I was literally wondering the other day if they made fiber paper in a "string" format - AND THEY DO!

And it's only $10 for 8 feet that you can untwist to get whatever string diameter you need.
