hey, folks, i've been facing an issue with #FursonaDirectory that i'm not able to remedy with my current knowledge. i'm getting spammed every day with signups to the site and it's getting ridiculous. i'm going to have to manually clean up the database with some SQL queries again at this rate. how do people stop these from coming in on their own #LinkStack instances?

for reference, i have fail2ban and crowdsec setup but have no idea how to leverage them for this problem. very new to this. 😓

docker completely shit the bed on #fursonadirectory for some reason, rebooted the node + restarted docker and it's fine now

the reason i don't list #FursonaDirectory and #BirdcatCafe on any "publicly available" service lists is that i want these services to be like a nice word of mouth indie thing amongst cool friends and furries, but i also don't want to put a target on my back for being a vector for abuse :(

yay, #FursonaDirectory was successfully migrated over to docker + alpine! site should be snapper now. also edited the frontpage so it's a little less crowded.

btw #FursonaDirectory fans, i'm planning on migrating to a docker-based image for easier upgrading and container isolation at some point soon, hopefully minimal downtime. will obviously have backups beforehand lol

diagnosing some issues with #FursonaDirectory / #BirdcatCafe, i think the disk is full

i changed the contact account for #FursonaDirectory to be this one since i'm not sure why notifications aren't getting through on my other account as consistently. i also added a notice that you can nudge me on bluesky to get in. hopefully this helps folks out ;v;

i keep forgetting how many people i know actually use #fursonadirectory as their main link hub thing and it's wild that i've processed like 34k clicks for folks
