CW: selfie
#FunADay late post: it is finished. it took roughly one month and around 6500 rings. I cannot imagine the tedium of doing a larger project than this so my plans of making a shirt are on hold indefinitely
-
I didn't do it every day but I really like picking records with the dice (even when I have to count/flip records up to 90 something) so I'm gonna keep this #FunADay thread alive but I'll change up the hashtag to #RollTheDice

Box 3 record 70JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS - Spinster
Blackheart Records
(1994)Opens with the wedding procession song and the rock cuts in with the lyrics "Maybe I don't wanna maybe I don't wanna, wanna
Maybe I don't wanna fuck you!"
Hard rock n roll from one of the best to ever do it. Seems self released too? Pretty cool for a mainstream artist.2/2

Box 3 record 45I SPY / ...BUT ALIVE split
Self released?
(1995)I SPY side is 3 very hectic fast (kinda progy?) punk tracks. ...BUT ALIVE is euro style fast pop punk. Fun split. There are two inserts and a little note.

Box 3 Record 60INTENSIVE CARE - Everything Has Its's Price
Iron Lung
(2018)Bass and drums and noise and vocals, fucking great, not much else to say.

Box 4 record 15NO KNOCK - Imagine A World Without Landlords
Peace
(2024)Blazing noisey hardcore punk, no lyrics but based on the photos and art included in guarantee this holds up politically. Sick release, includes a screen printed poster, the sleve is made by hand, I have the Peace Records flyer it came with. The sleeve was so packed it was a mild challenge to get the record out.

#FunADay so far:
I got more rings for the coif so I might actually be able to finish it by the end of the month, but I've also been having fun making these little earring danglies (or keychains or wtv) in different sizes/weaves. made a boot chain to match the belt I made earlier (not pictured) and now working on this teeny byzantine glasses chain (bottom right). I!!! love!!! making!!! stuff!!!

#FunADay boot chain # 1. aluminum half Persian 4-in-1 with stainless steel findings. made for boots with laces
-
#FunADay day whatever: I successfully remade the cap and everything is good now but I've run out of rings! so this project is on hold until I can get more. now I'm trying to figure out what else to make

Box 2, record 30DESPISE YOU - PCP Scapegoat
Pessimiser / Theologian
(1996)Very classic DESPISE YOU 7", 13 pummelling heavy powerviolence songs. This 7" was included on the West Side Horizons LP so everyone knows these tracks.
Funny that this was put out by the PENNYWISE label.

Box 5 record 1SEX PRISONER - self titled
To Live A Lie
(2010)The riffs and drumming in this record are great but based on the lyrics the singer is definitely a piece of shit and the other band members are also by association and for being chill with having that shit on the insert.
Oops I broke it

Box 4 record 70RAI KO RIS - Himalayan Frostbite
Bat Attack Records
(2003)Ok this is one of my favorites from my collection. RAI KO RIS is a Nepalese 3 piece, they play hardcore punk that doesnt neatly fit any category but I really like it. 2 songs in English, 2 songs are in I assume Nepali, but could be in a lot of languages since its a super diverse place for languages. The two non English songs have their lyrics in Devanagari and I guess phonetic latin script Nepali, amd translated English. Super cool, but the elnglosh songs are only written in English.
The song lyrics talk about emmigration, state oppression, posturing, and racism.
The center sticker of the record has a promt of a soldier forcing a line of refugees at gunpoint, but side B is a continuation of side A so it kind of looks like the standard refugees welcome image. I think it was intentional. The coolest thing is that the back side of the insert has a kind of recent roundup of news about the revolution that was ongoing at the time.

Box 5 record 31
Ok I'm now 10 days behind, so let's try to catch up.This is one of the most weird ass splits, and I'm stoked it came up.
SPAZZ / 25 TA LIFE a love story ... of hate
Edison Recordings / Very Distro
(1999)Side A - 4 classic SPAZZ style songs, great riffs, weird lyrics, one song is about being an old punk, I read along with the lyrics and I think the track listing is out of order but lots of the vocals are iuintelligible (and that is saying something for a.split with 25 TA LIFE)
Side B - 2 very belligerent hardcore songs with classics Rick TA LIFE vocals where I though it was my cat puking for a second. The songs contradict eachother and even themselves at times.
The center sticker on the record has a picture of Max Ward and Rick Ta Life
2/2 for a classic laugh

#FunADay
Today I practiced #speedcubing!I didn't get good times, my actually good cube got trampled in a moshpit so I'm on my slow squeaky backup, but the point was to learn algorithms anyway
-
A friend printed this patch for my #battlejacket. I've been slowly working on embroidering it for #FunADay.

Double #funADay post today to compensate for the last few days. Doodled some shapes for @la_chaine and doodled some agitated moshers for this lil solidarity flyer for tabling at #montrealMadhouse this weekend.
