Had to deal with a poopsicle on our RV today. If you’re not familiar with the term, it’s a frozen sewer hose. Ours is heated, but we’ve been lazy and leaving the valves open rather than jumping once a week or so. The slow steady flow combined with the prolonged cold spell (the average temperature here, day and night, has been just 17°F for the whole of January) caused it.
It was just about has much fun to deal with as you can imagine. We’ll fill and dump now.

I've lived in my #RV now for two full years and it took me until today to discover I had an electrical outlet and USB jacks on the other side of my bed. I'm still trying to figure out how I didn't notice this until now.
#Winter is going to be so much more organized now considering I can plug one of the electric blanket controllers on that side of the bed and have the other on the other side of the bed.

It’s so hot in the RV today, I tried to fry an egg on the counter. The egg said no. Said it’s union and doesn’t work past 90 degrees.

Skirting is on the RV, and I think we're ready for winter now! We've used 2" XPS foam board like this for the past few years and it's always worked well.
Each year we've been able to use up the foam board in building projects, so nothing goes to waste. But next year we might leave this on and just add some ventilation as it should help keep mice out of the RV - it's sealed up _really_ tight right now!

LOL. Ran out of propane overnight. Woke up to it being 50F inside the camper this morning. So now I've got three space heaters (and a new bottle of propane) all going to heat this place up! And boy am I drawing some amps! #RVlife #RVliving #FullTimeRV

This means adding foam board skirting around the RV, putting away various tools, outdoor furniture and the grill, tidying up a few fallen trees on our forest trails, installing reflective driveway marker fiberglass poles for the snow plow and a bunch of other tasks.
We’re also expecting the delivery of our exterior insulation boards today - our next project.

Also decided to replace the electric heating element in our RV water heater. Here’s the old one next to the new one. The old one was working fine, despite its looks, so technically didn’t need replacing but I feel like that buildup must be impacting its effectiveness. The replacement cost $18.
We do replace the anode rod regularly, and scoping the tank looked fine. This is after 6 years of full time use so not too surprising.

Somehow this gear component which attaches to the motor shaft to raise the fan lid had, well, essentially exploded. This is made of metal!
