  1. I’m in work over the weekend so no TGI … Fenster Freitag this week. However, here’s the deuxième partie of “So, what’s it like working in a building from the 1600s?” (sound on)

  2. TGI … Fenster Freitag. OPW renovations finished on the Royal Hospital’s historic North Range. Subtle improvements that make all the difference: some window panes enhanced further from initial ‘80s refurb, so natural light is better. The art is still out for restoration, hence the bare walls and black canvases. #FensterFreitag #WindowFriday #Windows #FuinneogFriday #HistoricBuilding #OPW #HeritageSite #RoyalHospitalKilmainham #Dublin #Mastodaoine

  3. TGI … Fenster Freitag. “Take A Breath” opened last night at IMMA, Dublin, “a major new exhibition that provides an historical, social, political, and personal examination of breathing; exploring themes of pollution, decolonisation, environmental racism, breath and language, the ecology of war, and breath as meditation.”#FensterFreitag #WindowFriday #FuinneogFriday #TakeABreath #IMMA #Dublin #IrishArt #Museums #GLAM #Mastodaoine #Blue #AlexCecchetti #TheJourneyOfOneBreath #Installation

  13. TGI … Fenster Freitag. The now National Museum of Ireland: Through 3 centuries, this site housed English/ British Armed Forces and then Irish Army garrisons. Built in 1702, originally called ‘The Barracks,’ and later ‘The Royal Barracks,’ in 1922, under the Irish Free State, it became ‘Collins Barracks,’ after Michael Collins, killed earlier that year. #FensterFreitag #WindowFriday #FuinneogFriday #NMI #DecorativeArtsAndHistory #Mastodaoine #NationalMuseum #Ireland #Museum

  15. TGI Fenster Freitag and a long weekend too😮‍💨😊. Something slightly Halloweeny: Stained glass windows from the Royal Hospital’s chapel, Kilmainham. 16. Fenster Freitag*… I’m working the next few Saturdays so no TGIF feeling. The young and the old, thick trunks and new development. #FensterFreitag #WindowFriday #FuinneogFriday #Window #Trees #Tree #ThickTrunk #Sunshine #MilitaryRoad #Dublin8 #Ireland #Mastodaoine
*Edited for my best typo ever: Fester Friday 😂 I am sooo festering this Friday 🧟‍♂️

  17. Sometime around July 2010 the summer months became baby seagull season outside our office window. It’s been like that ever since. Squeeep. Squeeep. #FensterFreitag #WindowFriday #FuinneogFriday #Window #BabyGull #Seagull #LearningToFly #GoAheadAndJump #Mastodaoine #TGIF #Ireland

  18. Fenster Freitag this week: Enniscorthy old Malt house, Dunnes Stores shopping centre. So many former industrial buildings are now consumer outlets.

  20. TGI Fenster Freitag. Two tiny windows in a Martello Tower in Howth. So I guess it’s a bit of a Bloomsday toot too; although it’s a Martello Tower on my side of the city and not Buck Mulligan’s one on the Southside. #FensterFreitag #WindowFriday #FuinneogFriday #Bloomsday2023 #JamesJoyce #Howth #MartelloTower #Window #Ulysses #Dublin #Ireland #Mastodaoine

  21. @AughadownMan

The church on Inis Meáin was built in 1939 so I guess its stained-glass windows were designed by the Harry Clarke Studio, rather than by Harry Clarke himself.

  22. #OTD 6th January 1931 Irish artist Harry Clarke died. This image is of his stained glass window entitled ‘The Last Judgement’ in St Patrick’s Church, Newport, Mayo. The work was commissioned in 1926, but installation was not completed until after Clarke’s death. The panel on the right shows the damned being cast down to hell and includes a self-portrait of the artist.
