  1. Sick of seeing people put Sean Strickland on a pedestal, just because he spoke up against Trump & Israel hypocrisy. That fucking white wankerbutternoodle doesn't actually care about anti-racism or genocide. He's also a queerphobe/transphobe & is a misogynistic jerkface too.
Just because he's against Trump/Israel shit doesn't mean that he is a great human being.

  3. Jensen Huang explains why I hate "AI" for the same reason I hate cars:

“When I was growing up, I used to play in the streets,” Huang said. “When cars came along, you obviously can’t play in the streets now.”

We should be able to play in the streets. We should be able to search without "AI summaries." We should be able to work without "AI tools."

  7. Somehow I missed this when the story broke a few weeks ago: Atomwaffen Division co-founder Brandon Russell has been given a 20-year prison sentence for plotting to attack the Baltimore power grid with his girlfriend (h/t @MusiqueNow). He had been found guilty back in February, but sentencing was only earlier this month.

They picked Baltimore in part because the girlfriend, Sarah Beth Clendaniel, also a neo-nazi, was from the area, but mostly because it's a city with a large Black population. Clendaniel recently got an 18-year sentence for her part in the plot.

  9. New thread on Ross Leonard of Milford, Ohio, member of the Ohio Nationalist Network (formerly the Ohio Active Club). He's also closely connected to the neo-nazi self-help grift Operation Werewolf and the Virginia-based neo-nazi jiu-jitsu group Devotion Jiu-Jitsu.

The thread includes receipts on Leonard's posts overtly advocating violence, and he's obviously training to do violence. A real piece of work.

Anyways, if you know anyone in/around Milford, OH, please let them know as a matter of community safety.

  11. A state judge in Texas Wednesday ordered Infowars' assets to be turned over to a newly-appointed state receiver, who will sell them to pay the families of the Connecticut children killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. They won a $1.3 billion defamation case against Jones after he spread bogus [conspiracy theories] that the shooting never happened and the grieving families were actors. His listeners harassed the families for years.

The move paves the way for the receiver — or sheriffs — to start the process of seizing cash and property owned by Infowars and its parent company, Free Speech Systems, within days. The families, who've spent some three years in federal bankruptcy court trying to collect what Jones owes them, could start seeing their first payouts through the state court in weeks or months.

  15. Oh wow, I see Horst Mahler has died. Good riddance.

Mahler was a founding member of Germany's far-left Red Army Faction, and he was a flamboyant lawyer who vigorously defended its members against terrorism charges in court. But at some point in the 1990s, he began drifting to the right. He started dabbling in "Reichsbuerger" ideology, claiming that Germany wasn't really a sovereign country but rather remained under foreign occupation. He started writing for right-wing outlets and dabbling in Holocaust denial. Then it wasn't just dabbling.

He eventually joined the ironically named neo-nazi National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD) and served as its attorney when the German government tried to ban it (they failed, but mostly because of police incompetence). He became a general conspiracy theorist -- 9/11, QAnon, whatever you got, he was on it.

The dude was bad news all around. He was 89 when he died, but as far as I can tell, he was still pretty active in neo-nazi circuits until pretty close to the end. A disaster of a human being, and we're all better off with him gone.

Meet Michael Wright, the neo-nazi blogger, podcaster, and all-around right-wing "influencer" widely known as "Morgoth," whose influencees have included racist mass murderer Dylann Roof and members of banned UK-based terror group National Action. This article warrants a content warning, just because it inevitably quotes the person in question as evidence. So be aware: there's some very nasty racist, antisemitic, and violent commentary quoted here.

  28. Joe Kent, a former Green Beret who is Donald Trump’s pick to lead the National Counterterrorism Center, completed 11 combat deployments during the War on Terror. The combat left scars. In 2019, an ISIS suicide bomber killed his wife, a Navy cryptologist and linguist, in Syria. By the time he returned home, his worldview had shifted: Kent came to believe, as I wrote in a 2022 profile, that his early tours in Iraq gave him a “special gift of clarity.” He understood how quickly a society could come undone.

After this, Kent went from apolitical to active. The Black Lives Matter and antifa protests in Portland during the summer of 2020 triggered fears for him that the United States could similarly implode. Everything, he felt, was crumbling. He and his two young boys quickly left the city for rural Washington.

“We need to treat antifa and BLM like terrorist organizations. We need to use the tools of the federal government, the FBI, the US Marshals—go after them like organized criminals and terrorists,” Kent said in a 2021 conversation with the podcaster Tim Pool about the group’s leaders. “So, when we start arresting these guys and charging them with federal terrorism charges, that’s going to take away a lot of the incentive to go out and riot.”

  30. Despite some platforms rolling back their moderation policies, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube appear to have continued to maintain policies barring hateful and bigoted rhetoric. Spotify, for example, prohibits “dehumanizing statements about a person or group” based on several factors including race, religion, gender identity or expression, and sexual orientation. Spotify also bans rhetoric that promotes hate groups and their associated images. Apple Podcasts and YouTube have similar policies.

Hatewatch sent the platforms a detailed set of questions, which included examples of antisemitic and bigoted content Shields has produced.

A YouTube spokesperson responded via email, writing, “Upon review, the videos shared do not violate our Community Guidelines.” Asked about their policies regarding terminated users appearing on channels hosted by other creators, the spokesperson told Hatewatch that creators are “prohibited from letting others whose YouTube channels have been terminated use their YouTube channel to bypass termination.” While YouTube confirmed that many of the people who appear on Shields’ channel — Fuentes, Rousseau, Duke, Enrique Tarrio of the Proud Boys, and others — are “terminated users,” the spokesperson also said that “Terminated users may appear on YouTube in other contexts, such as interviews.”

Hatewatch reached out to Spotify several times on its media contact web page but did not receive a response. Hatewatch contacted Apple Podcasts, and a representative indicated that they would be available for a phone call, but they never responded to multiple follow-up emails.

  34. CW: Musk's use of a neo-nazi talking point re: empathy

There's been so much evidence over the course of at least a few years that Elon Musk has gone down a giant neo-nazi rabbit hole, but nothing -- not boosting antisemitic conspiracy theorists, not the Nazi salutes, not his embrace of the "Great Replacement" conspiracy theory -- really leaped out at me as much as when he recently started talking about Western civilization having "too much empathy".

The idea that "white people are highly empathetic and others regularly take advantage of that" is, in my experience, not something you see every day when you monitor white nationalist/neo-nazi spaces, but if you stick with it for a while, it does come out fairly regularly.

The point here is that, while it's not news to say that fascists are generally convinced (or at least pretend to be) of their own victimhood and use that to justify what you could call "hitting back in advance", the "too much empathy" thing is sort of a niche way of framing that. In my experience, you would have to be around pretty consistently over a fairly extensive period of time for that one to really sink in. So when someone spits that line out, it kind of instantly sounds to me like they've been hanging out with actual nazis. And I know it's also not news to point out that Elon Musk has overt fascists and even neo-nazis in his orbit, I do nonetheless think this level of closeness is worth documenting.

And if you want evidence of that particular rhetorical bit, all of the quotes below come to you directly from overtly Nazi/white nationalist social media accounts. They span a couple of years, and while it's not hard to find posts that use the words "white" and "empathetic", they're not all *that* common (whereas if you search for "great replacement" you'll get piles of hits just from today).

You could call this circumstantial evidence, and you'd be right. But a) I'm not actually trying to convict anyone, and b) in conjunction with every other indication that Musk believes in actual Nazi shit, I think this is a pretty strong indicator. It's *possible* that he just magically came up with this particular Nazi talking point all on his own, but the odds aren't that great.

I don't really want to post screenshots, and I sure as hell don't want to post links, so these are all copied and pasted. It's generally best not to share Nazi propaganda, but I think this is a point worth making, and I think there's enough context here to justify doing it. All spelling and grammatical errors are theirs.

    - "Non-Whites all gas light you and blame you for their own actions and behavior! Because your too empathetic and gullible enough to listen to their lies, bellyaching and moaning of how their so put upon and its all our fault for their predicaments? It is our faults for being so naïve and short sighted to listen them and for simply having any discourse with them at all now we give them everything we have and they want more and more yet they want to kill us at the same time!!"

    - [In reference to the "white genocide" conspiracy theory:] "These genocide merchants are selling the idea that there will be a utopia once we're gone. The saddest, most surreal part of it all is that White people are currently altruistic and empathetic enough to go along with it."

    - "The left thinks only Whites enjoy nature. Maybe they're correct, admitting this. Most Whites just assume every race loves nature as much as they do. That sort of empathetic projection is common with Whites. We get exploited for it often."

    - "White people are uniquely empathetic/low-in-group preference that way, so this deracinating Jewish propaganda works especially well on them."

You get the picture. Make of it what you will.

At the Tesla “gigafactory” in Grünheide outside Berlin, a number of workers who have gotten sick and provided doctors’ notes explaining their absence from work have received letters telling they have to name exactly what is ailing them and waive doctor-patient confidentiality or they won’t get paid at all. Some of them have been paid “by accident” and told they have to give the money back.

The union IG-Metall says Tesla workers require legal representation 21x more often than average throughout the union nationwide.
