Where I live (not far from Ukraine) almost every town does an emergency siren test once a month. There was no siren for some reason in the village when we moved here – one has only been installed recently. Today it sounded at noon, and for the first time in my life, I thought it was real. That certainty that nothing is happening, it's just a test, is gone. I wish I didn't live in interesting times.
