I may have taken #FuckOffFriday a little too literally on Twitter today, but Elon has really just taken things too far.

He has now marked all Substack links as spam, and you can no longer like or comment on any outlines to Substack.

Anyway, so happy that this is the first #FediFriday of many more #FediFridays to come!

I have taken the time to personally walk some incredibly tech savvy people through the transition to mastodon this week, and as ridiculous as it may sound to me, I can see where there are still real barriers to entry, depending on your perspective on certain technical things. And that’s something that just requires better UI, better documentation, better explainers, all very overcomeable hurdles.

and that’s totally fair. some of them know nothing of the fediverse, or don’t follow enough people, or haven’t found the right apps or tools, or haven’t found the right ways to interact. these things take time and we have to give people grace and time!
