So we are cracking down on refugees whilst at the same time ensuring that their numbers will increase. If it is not supporting (no matter what Starmer says, he is), wars and forced ‘migration’, we are supporting fossil fuel paddlers with tax breaks and relaxed environmental rules whilst as the same time cutting funding for climate mitigation (including the UK).

A while back I posted about a friend who is on long term disability and will never work again. They were getting ESA and PIP... and it was just enough for them to live on.
Then they were forced to apply for Universal Credit and by forced... I mean, threatened... it was you will apply by this date (in june or july) or you can fuck off and never get benefits again.
So they had to apply, but left it until the last minute.
All that is now sorted... except for the major flaw in the DWP plan that they never bothered to tell them, and that makes an utter mockery of the entire system and reasoning for forcing them of of ESA.
Because they're still going to be getting ESA as well as UC.
WTF!!!
So what the DWP are doing is taking the amount they get from ESA, rounding it up for a year and dividing by 12 because monthly paid rather than bi weekly as ESA is.
That amount is £1060
They got notified that their UC was going to be £450 a month... and then a continued £281 bi weekly from ESA.
So UC deduct that ESA amount from their £1060 which means £610 is taken of each month.... except they don't get that ESA 'monthly' it's bi weekly... and if you can do the math... £281 x 2 = £562... It means they're going to be down £50 a month for 10 months of the year... because bi-weekly payments means that twice a year, they get 3 payments in a month rather than 2... You might see it as a bonus... but when they're taking an extra £48 a month out of your pocket for 5 months... it has an effect on some one struggling to make ends meet.
Are they expected to build up a debt for 5 months and pay the bill when that money is returned every 6th month?
Perhaps the council tax, or gas, or electric, or water companies would understand that they can't pay the bill for the next 5 months because of this clusterfuck of a system that was designed by a toddler with the IQ of a delinquent Haddock.
Just another way the govt fucks over the disabled.

If you ever needed to know that #Labour are just as evil as the #Tories here's why, and here's why they're still attacking the disabled, the vulnerable and the poor.
It's because they not happy being slaves to their corporate masters.
So this is what's currently happening to a friend of mine.
He's got a letter from the DWP, telling him that his ESA will end in the middle of July and he needs to apply for Universal credit.
He starts panicking, he doesn't know what to do.
After a few weeks of ignoring it, he finally gets up the courage to ask me for help. He doesn't have any family he can turn too for help as they all... to put it bluntly, thick as pig shit and treat him (the most intelligent person in his entire extended family) as some kind of leper, because he's capable of actual independent thought and doesn't believe every he reads on facebook.
So I look into it.
He's on ESA, in the support group, gets PIP and the disability premium on his ESA. The ESA, with the disability premium is worth about £480 every two weeks.
Universal credit is about £383 every two weeks.
However, they top up the UC so that he will still get that same £480 every two weeks... and he can still ask for his money to be paid bi weekly instead of monthly as they want it... All good you might think, he's not going to lose a penny at all... and he's not.
This year.... but every year afterwards will see him fall further into poverty.
Here's why.
That top up to keep his benefit the same as now, is because they've abolished the disability premium... which is awarded to people who live alone and have no carer. The people who need that extra money the most... fuck em, let em suffer is still the attitude of govt.
So what that means... is that as the UC is increased each year... that top up, gets reduced by the same amount.
So that £480 he gets every two weeks.. stays at £480 until the UC of £383 reaches the same £480.
To put that in perspective... the avg increase in UC is about £3 or 4, every two weeks.... PER YEAR!!! £97 difference, divided by £3 would be 32 years, divided by £4 would be 24 years.
Imagine never getting a penny extra for 24yrs when you are a disabled person, unable to work, approaching 60yrs old who last had a job nearly 15yrs ago and was fired because of his health... and who had to wait a further 7 years before they actually awarded him disability.
He lived in extreme poverty for years, not able to heat his home, buy clothes or feed himself properly.
It's a fucking disgrace, I am outraged about this. Further proof that the labour scum bags are fucking over the poor, the disabled and anyone who isn't some wage slave to a corporate overlord who pays them shit wages, hoards all of the profits and doesn't pay as much money as the minimum wage staff they treat as disposable slaves.
So now I have to help him sort out this UC application... thankfully it doesn't affect his PIP and that will still go up each year... by an avg of about £2 every 2 weeks.
All his bills still rise, cost of energy goes up all the time, his council tax goes up every year. He's got 10yrs left before he can get his state pension., which at least is about £50 more every two weeks... and I think I can save him some money on his council tax as he's only getting the 25% single/disabled discount, and I think he's entitled to the full CT benefit. That could cut his CT bill by another £50 a month.
But... fuck them all.
