I am not on here terribly often and mostly lurk. But in light of the recent election and the fact that I am a trans person living in the US. I wanted to share a poem I wrote a couple days ago:

The Fascist’s Boogeyman (she/her)

I am the fascist’s boogeyman
what goes bump in the night.

Destroying and corrupting
family, order, and what is right.

I am the fascist’s boogeyman
who steals gender on the sly.

Refusing to accept the roles
they’re hungry to apply.

I am the fascist’s boogeyman
when I laugh and laugh and laugh.

Mocking the cruel stories
they make on my behalf.

I am the fascist’s boogeyman
how do I make them shriek.

Being boldly in my body
my life a sharp critique.

Never thought I'd say it, but I'm really jealous seeing with what little drama the UK kicks out a party that has been in power for 14 years: No storming of Parlament, nobody claiming the election was stolen, no people dead, no top secrets stored in former PMs bathroom, no candidate a felon, and the new PM doesn't even want to overthrow democracy ... and none of the fireworks that scare my dog to pieces - sigh!

I just learned that Elie Mystal went to Harvard Law with Tom Cotton. According to Mystal, Cotton was not a paragon of intellect in the halls of Harvard and people made fun of him all the time. He says he thinks Cotton feels aggrieved because he wasn't getting made fun of by his white male buddies. Nope. He got made fun of by everybody else, and especially women 🤣 It's so glorious!
