Fucking Bell Canada just sent my father-in-law a threatening letter. He's been dead for nine months, and we closed out his account with them 10 months ago when he cancelled all of his services.

We've got the last bill, showing a $0 balance. They're threatening to send $43 to "collections". Be interesting to find out what they think he owes them still. Probably a $40 + tax dying fee.

Fucking Canadian monopolies.

it seems to me that if you want the benefits of publicly traded shares then you need to accept certain restraints. No layoffs within two years of a dividend increase.
We leave the issues of stock buybacks and executive compensation for another day.

A little too late. The #CRTC will finally force #Bell and #Rogers to re-sell fibre to the home service. This delay of years though has meant most of the independents have either gone bankrupt or sold themselves to one of the big telecoms. Still, if a 3rd party manages to take this over, even if I have to pay more, I'll switch from Bell in a heartbeat. #FuckBell
