CW: A life worth celebrating, loud [cw: death]
RIP to the great guitarist & songwriter George Kooymans of Golden Earring, aged 77.
It's a hard pick to guess who the best Dutch guitarist would be; him or Focus' Jan Akkermans. But in terms of songwriting acumen, I'd give it to Kooymans.
Golden Earring ended in 2021 following Kooymans' diagnosis with ALS. 61 years of the most gorgeous guitar work is a great legacy, tho.
