    But wait, that's not all. I already knew the game had some frame pacing issues from #OptiScaler's log, but I thought it was just a matter of waiting out a newer version of Proton/Mesa/OptiScaler.

    It turns out you can enable ray tracing and play the game with #Vulkan #FSR4 without freezes if you disable asynchronous-compute (in-game: "Present from compute"). I feel so stupid 🙄

  3. I finally cracked it! Not ideal, but it's working. For more than a month on #CachyOS #Linux (RDNA3), Doom Eternal just froze on me after some time when I tried running it with #OptiScaler's #Vulkan #FSR4 hack. I thought I tried literally everything, but apparently you just have to disable ray tracing. Screenshots are showing the game running with (before it freezes) and without RT (not freezing).

  5. AMD ha anunciado que sus gráficas con tecnología RDNA3 y 2, podrán soportar el rescalado FSR4 que era exclusivo de las últimas gráficas RDNA4. Será oficialmente soportado desde julio de 2026 para la versión 3 y en 2027 para la 2.

    Lo curioso es que ya era posible experimentar FSR4 en RDNA3 en Linux con algunas versiones de Proton, como la de CachyOS, añadiendo la variable de entorno:

    PROTON_FSR4_RDNA3_UPGRADE=1

  6. Cool to see how AMD brings FSR4.1 to older graphics cards. I'm already using FSR4 INT8 on Steam Deck through OptiScaler and it's pretty nice.

    Unfortunately, the PS5 missed support for it, since it's a hybrid between RDNA1 and 2 and does not feature an INT8 acceleration pipeline (the Xbox Series X does).

  16. CachyOS trae por defecto muchas herramientas propias, como su Proton-cachyos, con y sin runtime de Steam. He estado probando usar FSR4 de AMD en mi gráfica RDNA3 y funciona.
    La variable que uso en el arranque del juego es: PROTON_FSR4_RDNA3_UPGRADE=1

    En The Last of Us lo uso ahora sin problema!🥳
    Me pregunto si llegará a la Steam Deck.
