I couldn't watch the game this year, it sounds like MSU was the better team but couldn't get the job done when it counted. I'll take it.
I gather the Cornell pep band played "Hail to the Victors" early on.
Cornell hockey is as excited as I get about sports. They were not supposed to be in the #FrozenFour tournament but they beat better teams on the way to the ECAC tournament championship, which earned them an auto-bid (and the lowest seed).

Michigan State ice hockey is ranked No. 1 in the nation ... and my Cornell Big Red just upset them in the NCAA #FrozenFour tournament!
This was the 12th matchup between the teams, I have seen three of them in-person. Twice when I had season tickets as a Cornell undergrad and once in East Lansing during the 2019-20 season.
The 19-20 Cornell squad was a juggernaut, they blew out MSU on the way to being the top-ranked team in the country - just in time for COVID to end the season.

UW-River Falls set the DIII women's ice hockey record for wins in a season with 30 after its 3-2 win over Adrian in the semifinals. The previous record was 29 wins, set by Plattsburgh in both 2016 and 2019. If UW-River Falls wins the national championship on Sunday, it will be the second undefeated season in DIII women’s ice hockey history. The first was Middlebury (27-0) in 2022.
