A whole range of albums from #NoiseUnit are available to download free today (or name your price)! Great opportunity to get some nice #industrial / #EBM — particularly if you like the #FrontLineAssembly sound (Noise Unit is a #FLA side project of sorts).

My recommendations would be Deviator, Strategy of Violence, maybe Voyeur. Also Cheeba City Blues has some nice moments, though more ponderous.

Oh, it seems #TacticalNeuralImplant by #FrontLineAssembly is finally on #Spotify. Other #FLA albums were there, but not that for some reason, despite it being a signature record. Highly recommended, one of the best #electronicMusic / #industrial albums ever. And properly #cyberpunk!

The latest #NoiseUnit by #BillLeeb is out, #CheebaCityBlues. Aurally the maestro from #FrontLineAssembly takes things in a new direction, and his undoubtedly masterful skills on the synth mix funk, jazz, dub, spacey waves and even hiphop. It's thus disappointing to hear the vocal delivery follow his standard hoarse style with lazy rhyming which has become almost a cliche of itself. I'm left conflicted, wishing I could enjoy an instrumental version or different vocals.

It's rare for a remix album to actually improve on already good original songs. In this case that's the norm!

Just check out "Leveled (Sonic Mayhem)", my favorite of the bunch. It's filled with aggression, calm, nostalgia, synths, guitars, pianos, lyrics about impending doom and our responsibility in it. Can one song really have it all?

Another favorite is "Prototype (HECQ)" with truly masterful build and sound design.
