Learning Studios, The Digital Depot, Saturday, September 5 at 11:00 AM GMT+1

sundmay⚡️ Welcome to the world of electronics with Python that can interact with electronics (it's called CircuitPython).

⚙️ Through a series of five 1.5 hour workshops, we will introduce you to circuits with paper circuits, find out what breadboards are (It's not made of bread 🍞). How it all connects together, what is a Raspberry Pi Pico, and how do you use code to make it all work? And what is this CircuitPython you keep mentioning?

🎮 By the last session, you will be able to code a game controller connected to a Raspberry Pi Pico, and when you connect that a laptop, you can play games! And as it's customisable, you can change and modify it as it's all in Python! 🐍

👉 Each session builds on the previous one, so it's advised to attend all the sessions.

  8. Tog: Hack and Chill

Tog Hackerspace, Friday, June 19 at 07:00 PM GMT+1

We’re launching a new regular night at Tog Hackerspace, and if you’re into computer security, hardware hacking, or just the hacker mindset, you’ll want to be there.

Hack and Chill is a space for folks who enjoy exploring systems, poking at protocols, reverse-engineering things, flashing firmware, or just chatting about exploits over a cup of tea.

    What’s it all about?

It’s a chill, hacker-friendly night for messing with code, gear, networks, or ideas. No pressure to present or perform — just a place to learn, share, and maybe break a few things (ethically, of course). Think more Hackers (the movie) than hot glue and 3D printing.

Whether you’re a seasoned pentester, a hardware tinkerer with a soldering iron in your backpack, or just curious about the scene, come hang out.

📅 Opening Night: Friday, 22nd August

    🕖 Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

📍 Location: Tog Hackerspace, Unit 1B Motor City, Kylemore Road, D12 CF6V, Dublin

Hack and Chill will run every Friday night, except for the first Friday of the month — that’s when we’ll be over at 2600 Dublin.

So grab your laptop, your favourite hack, or just your curiosity — and swing by. We don’t bite (but we might packet-sniff your phone).

  9. Workplace Organising for Migrants: A Discussion about our Rights

Teachers Club (Club na Múinteoirí), Saturday, June 13 at 02:00 PM GMT+1

Migrant workers are often in some of the most precarious positions in the labour market. While economies depend upon their labour, they are routinely subjected to poverty wages, labour rights abuses and health and safety violations.

The rights of migrant workers in Ireland will be front and centre of a discussion taking place on Saturday June 13th at 2pm at the Teachers Club, 36 Parnell Square, Dublin 1 D01T6V6.

At this event, key organisers from the Pan-African Workers Association (PAWA) and the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), along with activists from the African Centre Ireland, will discuss the organising challenges, strategies and successes they have experienced in the last few years, and how we can collectively organise to improve our lives as migrants.
