#frocktober day 7 - the AWS dress v2! Today I gave the keynote at the AWS Community Day in Pune, India. So fun! Thank you to the organisers for inviting me. ❤️👗

Being basically a giant means that dresses that are normal length on others are a bit, uh, brief on me. So for #frocktober day 5 I paired my beautiful ruffly Made590 Vera dress (in Rifle Paper Co. fabric!) with a pair of shorts. Today I learned that there are few early signs of ovarian cancer, and in some cases it can be asymptomatic until it advances to the later stages. #frocktober Day 4: It’s super humid in Singapore so today you get a hotel room selfie. I went for thematic with my self-made palm frond Seamwork Benning (the pilot for the #awsdressv2). Today’s fact is that if ovarian cancer is detected in the earliest stages, a 90% chance of survival is possible - that’s why the OCRF are funding projects for early detection tests. If you aren't comfortable wearing a dress everyday through #Frocktober, participation could be as simple as overdressing every day to encourage incidental conversation which raises awareness about Ovarian Cancer and the amazing work of OCRF Australia. 🧵6/

Early detection is critical for positive long-term outcomes, and OCRF has funded a large amount of the current research towards this goal in Australia since its inception. Early detection could save ~1.3 Million lives globally, and #Frocktober is a great way to support this! 🧵4/

#Frocktober is a fundraising event for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation OCRF which runs through October. Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynaecological cancer, with no early detection test, and only a 29% five-year survival rate in advanced stage diagnoses. 🧵2/

It’s been 5 years since my last #frocktober - far too long! I’m looking forward to pulling my dresses out of storage and seeing what sparks joy (and still fits!). Today was blisteringly hot in Sydney, so I started the month off with a ruffly floral sundress. 👗

For those who haven’t seen me do this before, Frocktober is a fundraising campaign for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. I’ve set a goal of raising $1500 (though my all-time record is $2350), and I’ll be wearing a dress every single day of the month. Has anyone on here done #frocktober (fundraising for ovarian cancer research during October) and would you recommend it? My understanding is that all funds go directly to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, which sounds good to me.
