3. 𝗕𝝤𝝢𝗘 𝗞𝗘𝗘𝗣𝗘𝗥 (FrightFest Glasgow) ★★★☆☆

I didn't love this British creature feature and I'm not sure it was film fest material.
It has some great cinematography, a very effective bone shrine and good effects work. But it loses points for its lack of originality, self aware tropes and frustrating character choices.

After a way too long hiatus, I'm finally back writing about horror films this week. In order of how much I loved them:

1. 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗩𝝞𝗟 (FrightFest Glasgow) ★★★★★

Adam O’Brien’s Bury the Devil was one of my biggest surprises at FrightFest Glasgow.
A one-shot possession horror set inside a storm-lashed house, it’s a claustrophobic and technically impressive piece of indie horror filmmaking

I'm a retired teacher who now spends most of their time either watching #horror films or reading about them. I'm interested in the academic study of horror though not a resident of the ivory towers myself. I do however enjoy attending online conferences and academic events.
Fan of #ExtremeHorror #AsianHorror #FolkHorror but love just about all #HorrorCinema.
I always try to be positive when talking about film and have no time for negativity.
