Rosie Casals is one of the fiercest competitors I've ever known. Winner of 25 major doubles and mixed doubles titles, and one of the greatest doubles players in tennis history, Rosie brought incredible talent, grit, and joy every time she stepped on the court.
But what I'm most grateful for is everything we accomplished together. As members of the Original 9, we took a leap of faith to create more opportunities for women in tennis. We fought for equality, and proved that when women stand together, we can change history.
Through it all, Rosie has not only been a treasured teammate, but a true a s loyal friend.
On International Friendship Day, I want to thank Rosie for her courage, her loyalty, her humor, and her heart.
