I need to plan my next brew day, I'll be harvesting my hops soon, so I was thinking maybe I should brew a full bine fresh hop saison.
Don't bother picking all the cones, just stuff the entire flowering bine into the kettle.

Having a Little Beast fresh hop IPA, and it’s just an ok fresh hop beer. There’s a little bit of fresh hop flavor, but no aroma. My husband got an Oregon City fresh hop IPA with fresh Amarillo hops, and it’s the best I’ve had so far, lovely hop aroma and that zing of fresh hop flavor. #beer #FreshHop

The hop harvest is over, but #FreshHop beers are still drinking great right now, with many still available both on tap and in retail. I’ve been enjoying my fair share, and one of those is the latest Farm to Market series beer from Portland’s #ZupansMarkets and #HettyAliceBeers — Flash Frozen Fresh Hop IPA.

Fall is officially here — and so is the rain. 🌧️ Perfect weather to crack open Hetty Alice and Zupan's Markets' collaboration "Farm to Market Flash Frozen IPA". Fresh hops, bold flavor, and the perfect companion for a gray day. 🍂🍺

Out of the can, FFFH IPA produces a healthy pile of off-white head, resting on a clear gold pool. Receding, there remains a thick blanket of lacing on the surface.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of tropical fruit, lychee, pine resin, and some vegetal fresh hop aroma.
Sipping, we recover notes of lychee, some dank cannabis, more strawberries, stone fruit, and some tropical citrus. Overall, FFFH IPA has a medium mouthfeel, some alcoholic warmth, and a lingering resiny bitterness.

More on #motherearthbrewing's Fresh As It Gets: Out of the can, Fresh As It Gets is clear and with a golden hue, capped off with a head of off-white. Receding, there remain islands and peninsulas of lacing inside the glass.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover pungent notes of herbs, pine, and grapefruit zest.
Sipping, we recover strong fresh hop notes of rich earth, pine resin, with a soft - medium finish. Overall, As Fresh As It Gets has a medium mouthfeel, alcoholic warmth, and a lingering earthen pine bitterness that reminds us of whenever we forget to wash our hands after picking dandelions.

Today was a travel day as I flew from the East Coast back home to Central Oregon, so naturally that means travel beers! I started with Cloud Cruiser IPA from #FremontBrewing on the plane (both planes!) along with a pint of Blind Pig IPA from #RussianRiverBrewing at the San Francisco airport, and finishing the journey with a #FreshHop beer from #WildRideBrewing in Redmond—Storyteller Fresh Hop Pale Ale. On Monday, we stopped in at B2 Taphouse on the way through Salem and I enjoyed my second #FreshHop #beer of the season, Killer Red from #DoubleMountainBrewery. This India Red Ale is infused with fresh Centennial #hops fresh off the bine and it's lush with pine and orange notes. Cheers! 🍻

Had another #freshhop beer (I wised up and ordered half pints), this one a WC IPA from Great Notion with fresh Centennial hops. I admit to a bit of a prejudice against Great Notion because I’m not a fan of those super hazy beers that are almost like shakes. Turns out they’re really good brewers, this one was my second favorite behind Level Brewing’s Pale Ale. It had lovely floral notes and a bit of FH zing. Always good to knock down preconceived notions. #portland #beermongers

I tried three #freshhop beers tonight - Stormbreaker Handful of Hops WC IPA, Hetty Alice (a hazy, can’t recall the name) and Baerlic (an IPA, can’t recall the name). All were solid good beers. None were good fresh hop beers - I didn’t taste or smell any floral notes, grassy flavors, etc. Level Beer remains the best I’ve tried. Beermongers also had a Living Häus FH IPA, need to go back and try it.

Back in #portland and it’s too hot, but #freshhop beer season has begun. Where to go first? I see Level has some, hard to tell who else does. Years ago, I collaborated on a fresh hop Google map with Bill Night (who used to write the It’s Pub Night blog). We’d put pins on the map as new fresh hop beers were released. Then Twitter became super popular, and fresh hop news was easy to find. Feel like I need that map again, at least for early in the season.

First #FreshHop #beer of the season! Fresh Hop Strata Valley Fog Hazy IPA from #HettyAliceBeer is currently pouring in #BendOregon at On Tap. It's got a lightly spicy note of fresh greens (dandelion) with a hint of dried grass or hay and stone fruit wrapped up in a hazy package. Cheers! 🍻

Rhyme & Reason doesn't do subtle. Their flavours are always full on. Sometimes even turned up beyond the max.
This Fresh Hop Hazy IPA is the exception to the rule... A surprisingly subtle, mild and even bland #IPA.

I ordered a mixed package of #Greenhop or #Freshhop #beers.
This is one of them, "Frischer Traum" from Riedenburger Brauhaus. Riedenburg is 30km west of Regensburg, #Bavaria.
Strong hop, very bitter IMHO.
But to be honest, I could not distinguish a greenhop or freshhop beer from other hoppy ones. So, what is it about? Anyone?

One thing I love about #McMenamins? Multiple breweries! So when a seasonal #CraftBeer recipe like Thundercone #FreshHop ale is brewed, you can try different versions! This year uses Simcoe hops from #SodbusterFarms. The #OldStFrancisSchool version (draft) has grassy aroma, dank candied grapefruit peel, some mint. The #Edgefield's (can) gives tropical fruit, hay, squash, bitter cucumber, stone fruit. The #AndersonSchool's (draft) is floral, dank, grassy, with red clover, dandelion, black tea.

Portland’s #LivingHäusBeer brewed up #FreshHop Cole IPA in collaboration with #HumbleSeaBrewing using fresh Centennial hops from #GoschieFarms, and the result is a bright IPA that’s piney, dank, and herbal. It’s a nice addition to the fresh hop fridge this year. Cheers! 🍻

I always enjoy the #FreshHop beers from @#LittleBeastBrewing and this year’s edition of Fresh Hop Pinetop IPA brings it, leaning into piney, earthy, fresh-herb character with a touch of citrus and bright fresh flavors. One of the best things about #FreshHop season is that fresh hop beers are available everywhere! I enjoyed these two at On Tap (taphouse and food cart pod in #BendOregon) a couple of weeks back – #StormBreakerBrewing Fresh Hop Oregon IPA and #GreatNotionBrewing Fresh Hop Easy Lift IPA – and now, On Tap has 7(!) fresh hop beers pouring. It really is the best season! Cheers! 🍻

Another of the #FreshHop beers brewed up by #BossRamblerBeerClub this year with the brewery’s liquid nitrogen freeze-and-shatter method is Liquid Fresh, a double dry-hopped west coast IPA brewed with fresh Strata hops from #ColemanAgriculture. I found it to have an herbal aroma along with earthy flavors featuring a touch of peppery spice. It’s less in-your-face than others I’ve had this year but well-brewed. Cheers! 🍻
