More on #motherearthbrewing's Fresh As It Gets: Out of the can, Fresh As It Gets is clear and with a golden hue, capped off with a head of off-white. Receding, there remain islands and peninsulas of lacing inside the glass.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover pungent notes of herbs, pine, and grapefruit zest.
Sipping, we recover strong fresh hop notes of rich earth, pine resin, with a soft - medium finish. Overall, As Fresh As It Gets has a medium mouthfeel, alcoholic warmth, and a lingering earthen pine bitterness that reminds us of whenever we forget to wash our hands after picking dandelions.

First #FreshHop #beer of the season! Fresh Hop Strata Valley Fog Hazy IPA from #HettyAliceBeer is currently pouring in #BendOregon at On Tap. It's got a lightly spicy note of fresh greens (dandelion) with a hint of dried grass or hay and stone fruit wrapped up in a hazy package. Cheers! 🍻

One thing I love about #McMenamins? Multiple breweries! So when a seasonal #CraftBeer recipe like Thundercone #FreshHop ale is brewed, you can try different versions! This year uses Simcoe hops from #SodbusterFarms. The #OldStFrancisSchool version (draft) has grassy aroma, dank candied grapefruit peel, some mint. The #Edgefield's (can) gives tropical fruit, hay, squash, bitter cucumber, stone fruit. The #AndersonSchool's (draft) is floral, dank, grassy, with red clover, dandelion, black tea.

One of the best things about #FreshHop season is that fresh hop beers are available everywhere! I enjoyed these two at On Tap (taphouse and food cart pod in #BendOregon) a couple of weeks back – #StormBreakerBrewing Fresh Hop Oregon IPA and #GreatNotionBrewing Fresh Hop Easy Lift IPA – and now, On Tap has 7(!) fresh hop beers pouring. It really is the best season! Cheers! 🍻

Another of the #FreshHop beers brewed up by #BossRamblerBeerClub this year with the brewery’s liquid nitrogen freeze-and-shatter method is Liquid Fresh, a double dry-hopped west coast IPA brewed with fresh Strata hops from #ColemanAgriculture. I found it to have an herbal aroma along with earthy flavors featuring a touch of peppery spice. It’s less in-your-face than others I’ve had this year but well-brewed. Cheers! 🍻

The #FreshHop beers from #DoubleMountainBrewery have returned, and in conjunction with the releases, the brewery sent me a bottle of this year’s Killer Green Fresh Hop IPA. The other standards are back as well—Killer Red Fresh Hop IRA, and Fresh Hop Iowa Bar Fight—and this year, there’s going to be a fresh hop edition of Velvet Wallpaper IPA too.

I'm still posting the various #FreshHop beers I've been enjoying this year, and I really liked this year's Fresh Hop Triple Double Imperial IPA from #StormBreakerBrewing. It's got a big fresh lupulin aroma with an herbal touch of yarrow. The flavor has a nice big bitterness with a punch of fruity herb and candied apricot. Cheers! 🍻

#SunriverBrewing is at the top of my list for #FreshHop #beer from Central Oregon, and Fresh Hop Vicious is my gold standard of the style. This year’s fresh hop version of its award-winning Vicious Mosquito IPA is brewed with Centennial CGX Fresh Hops from #CrosbyHops. These are fresh hops that are frozen at harvest and something new the brewery is trying this year. It does not disappoint! With notes of pine greens, bergamot, and wintergreen. Cheers! 🍻

Run, don’t walk, to get some #FreshHop Electric Fields IPA from #ThresholdBrewing, brewed with fresh Centennial #hops from #CrosbyHops. This is my favorite of the season so far, with a big punch of essential oils, a touch of dank, and fresh evergreen notes. This is one to try! Cheers! 🍻

Earlier this week I found this #FreshHop #beer in #Tacoma at #SigBrewing: Fresh Hop Pilscifer, the fresh version of its flagship Pilscifer pilsner. It's brewed with fresh Centennial hops and I found a freshly cut green grass character with a bit of herb in the profile. Cheers! 🍻

I had this #FreshHop hazy #IPA yesterday: Fresh Hop Van Beer from #GreatNotionBrewing, brewed with fresh Strata hops from #ColemanAgriculture. Super hazy, pretty fruity, but the issue I have with fresh hop hazies is that I find the fresh hops tend to get lost amongst the other copious amounts of dry hops. It's a good #beer though! 🍻

Today's #FreshHop #beer is a fresh hop #pilsner from #ViceBeer, Fresh to Death. It's brewed with fresh #Tettnanger #hops from #GoschieFarms, which offer up some nice spicy notes and light watercress. It's a nice one for a hot day. Cheers!

This week I received a #FreshHop #beer from Hood River’s #DoubleMountainBrewery, the new Iowa Bar Fight Fresh Hop #IPA, a collaboration with #SoleraBrewery of nearby Parkdale. Iowa Bar Fight was brewed with fresh #Strata hops sourced from #CrosbyHops.

My second #FreshHop beer of the season was Lookin' Fresh Fresh Hop #IPA from #SingleHillBrewing, an ale that was actually brewed in July using frozen fresh hops (presumably from last year's harvest). Does that count?
