Truly wonderful story telling, with hope, villainy, sadness, and rabbits. Don't watch if a bit squeamish! Very strong characters, well acted.

Roger Vadim's Love on a Pillow (1962) is a psycho-sexual melodrama starring Brigitte Bardot. It deals with freedom versus responsibility, free love versus marriage.

This is Bardot in a more serious complex role (moving away from her early romantic comedies) and she's superb. Great movie.

The lighter films of Eric Rhomer have the most delightfully French philosophical conversations in places such as cafeterias. I just cannot imagine overhearing anything like it in a London coffee shop.
